“The rural sheep farm offered quiet, a modern cabin, excellent food dinner, a wonderful farm tour that included wallabies, echidnas, a sheepdog herding demonstration, and an up-close sheep shearing demonstration. The owner is gracious and informative in several languages. We spent 2 nights enjoying comfortable beds and the calls of many interesting birds and animals. Nearby we can also recommend the gin distillery tasting and hiking the 3 waterfalls at Mt. Field national park. ”

“What an amazing location. Lovely clean, comfortable room. Nice view from the balcony of the bush and a dam with a platypus in it! You can also see wombats and wallabies walking past. Loved the fake gas fire in the room which kept it very warm. You do have to walk outside from your cabin to breakfast. The buffet breakfast could have more variety. The Highland restaurant was great though. Having no wifi, mobile reception or tv in the rooms gave us a complete break away. ”

“We were married here in 2015 and return regularly. It is a truely unique place, away from it all out in the beautiful Tasmanian rainforest. A place to relax, get in touch with nature, escape the hustle and bustle and recharge. The accommodation is clean and comfortable, if a little outdated. The king beds could use an upgrade ie. make them a king, not two singles joined in the middle. But the cabins are warm, light filled and surrounded by the rainforest. We stayed as a family, 2 kids under 5,...

“The food in restaurant was alittle pricey but I thought worth it. The veggies were crisp and not being a big bread eater, the entree bread was crisp and light, as was the toast in the morning. All food is organic and it absolutely made a taste difference for me. ”
