âWonderful location with easy access to the water. This part of Nungwi is less crowded and you can actually relax without getting too distracted by all the sellers. The view from the resort and our room was incredible. Workers were very kind and helpful. The food served was okay although could use some more seasoning since it didnât taste that much. âFriendly staff, clean rooms, pool with good upkeep and generally tidy grounds. Can't really complain about anything major. Even if it's not exactly 5-star accommodation they are making a good effort to cater to the needs of westerners. The restaurant has plenty of ambience and again the staff is friendly but the service is slow (this is endemic in Zanzibar though) and the breakfast selection is quite basic.

âWonderful hotel, nice stuff very good food. There is no alcohol served in the property you still can get it in a nearby beach bar. The beachfront villas are wonderful, We didn't like the constant hassling of vendors that came by the border of the property, but the hotel security guard was always there. Every afternoon the. beachfront was full of local youngsters playing soccer, what blocked your access to the beach. Overall highly recommend it, great place to rest and observe the local village...
âIf You are looking for an American/European resort this place May disappoint you. When I travel I like authentic local places. This place is totally Africa. Breakfast was modest and great. The food to order from the kitchen was fresh and very reasonably priced. The bring the food to you in front of your bungalow. Security was good. The highlight of my entire trip was swimming with the turtles that you can do for free if you stay here. Very close to beach and local Zoo.â

The Z Hotel

"We originally booked The Z Hotel, expecting to stay at the beautiful beachfront property with its stunning views, pool, restaurant, and gym. However, upon arrival, we were informed that we had been placed at The Z2 Hotel, a newly opened sister property located just behind The Z Hotel.
While Z2 is modern and clean, it lacks the charm, atmosphere, and convenience of the original Z Hotel. What disappointed us most was that nowhere in the booking process or confirmation was it mentioned that Z2 even exists, or that we could be placed there instead of the hotel we actually chose.
Guests at Z2 are allowed to use the pool at The Z Hotel, but you have to walk back and forth between the two buildings. Also, Z2 guests are not allowed to have breakfast at The Z Hotel, which added to the feeling of being separated or downgraded. Another important point, there is no elevator in the building.
Considering the relatively high price, the overall experience did not feel worth the cost. If we had been clearly informed about the existence of Z2 and what it offered we would probably have made a different booking. As it stands, we felt misled, and that we didnât get the value or experience we paid for.
The Z Hotel itself is lovely with a great vibe, just make sure you know exactly where youâre staying. Z2 may suit some, but itâs a very different experience than staying at the original property.
