There is a little cafe/ bar/ shop in the fortfied village as well as an ancient church and WW2 museum.

There are many restaurants within a few minutes drive or 30 minutes walk as well as a large supermarket at the foot of the hill in the larger town of Gallicano.

The large town of Gallicano has many restaurants and bars and shops, has a weekly market and holds many festivals during the summer months. The famous town of Barga is only 15 minutes drive away, as is the larger market town, Castelnuovo di Garfagnana. Bagni di Lucca, a famous spa town is 30 minutes drive.

The famous art city of Lucca is only 50 minutes drive away or a 45 minute train journey.

Garfagnana is 'Hidden Tuscany' at its best. With its stunning scenery it is the best area in Tuscany for walking and outdoor activities. The area is known for it's fabulous hiking opportunities as well as other outdoor adventures. There are wild swimming spots throughout the area.
