So much wrong with this hotel. Not recommended.
Stayed at a Preferred Club room. So many bad things I could say about this hotel, so let's start: 1. The check in took forever. 2. Big hair ball in the shower on first day. 3. The jacuzzi in the bathroom pumped out foul smelling brown water. 4. They don't care if there is a "do not disturb" light on. They knock AND even enter the room! UNACCEPTABLE. Happened 2-3 times during 5 days. 5. Even though breakfast was supposed to be ready at 7:00 am, it wasn't ready until 7:30 some days. 6. A lot of waiters/waitresses seemed mostly tired of life. Same for receptionists. 7. Preferred Club lounge is a joke. The breakfast was boring and the "exquisite" desserts were just regular pastry. 8. Upon check in you will get vouchers to use. Note that you can only use $40 or $20 at a time. So that $200 spa you were thinking of getting for free with your vouchers? Forget it. The pool area and the beach were nice though. That doesn't weigh up all the bad things about this hotel, unfortunately. All in all, I would not recommend staying at this hotel. If you are, don't book Preferred Club as it's a waste of money. Also be open and honest with the hotel about your issues, if you encounter any.

Location and views were great, staff were very friendly and helpful specially the manager Jason who helped us a lot, it was an excellent experience staying at Secret St. James and we will certainly go back there again. The only downside was the WiFi as i had to work through my stay and the connection was not very reliable!

Our stay was great! Everything was very smooth. We upgraded to the preferred side and had a pool dedicated just to that side which was nice if you didn’t want to be around the music from the other pool. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

I liked my butler. But My rooms door was broken, The toilet didn’t work and there was no hot water. I had to bring it up to managements attention several times and I booked vip the best room in the resort.

The resort was very nice. We stayed at the preferred side with an ocean view, and the view was really beautiful. The preferred access also allowed us to visit the breathless hotel and rooftop bar, which was also stunning. The staff were friendly, some more than others. The food options were good- buffet style breakfast and lunch and some restaurants with a preset menu for lunch and dinner. The entertainment team did a good job and it was nice to have activities during the day and evening. Despite the recent US travel ban, we felt completely safe. We also went off the resort for an excursion and didn’t feel worried. You just need to exercise usual travel precautions such as being aware of your surroundings, not being too flashy, and arranging transportation with known people. All in all, we had a great time and would return.

Lots of poolside or beach opportunities to soak up the sun. Different foods to choose and all good. Amenities and activities available. Load blowers cleaning outside first floor room daily made for early wake ups. Could not make reservations at restaurants and one that you could 4 days in advance wasn’t early enough. Having a pool floater was almost none existent as people hoarded them. And getting a lounger by the pool get towels night before and throw on lounger at 6am if you want your spot. And same hoarding with umbrella by the pool.

Great resort but it is ridiculous that you have to get up at 6AM to reserve a chair for the pool and a good spot on the beach. We have never been to a resort with this issue that was this bad. Something needs to change.
