“Wonderful old house with charming design and details”

“Very attentive host. Private, wooded property on golf course and very close to Lake James. Clean, spacious and has everything you need. Two bedrooms on main level and two bedrooms on the lower level. Upper level has nice living area and dining room. The lower level also has a nice living area with sofas, chairs, large screen TV, pool table, and kitchen/dining. Outdoor deck has grill and large dining table.”

“Location is great, house is roomy and great for a large family with teenagers. The host was responsive. Loved having use of the paddle boards and kayak. Kitchen could use a few things like storage containers with lids and some extra large bowls. Cleanliness in the showers could be better. We’d definitely rent the house again.”

“It's a charming spacious rental. It was perfect for our needs. We were visiting family in Hickory and it was really lovely to have a space of our own that was literally minutes from where they lived. I will be booking again next time I'm in the area.”

“This place was clean and kept up. Everything was exactly as advertised. We had a wonderful stay!”

“Very nice. Perfect for the two of us!!”

“This wonderful little gem is at the top of the mountain. It’s a great ride up the road to the top of the mountain. The view was wonderful. The house was really a perfect size for just the two of us. It was well stocked with what we needed or wanted. The nice thing was that the owners were right next-door in their house if we needed anything they would’ve come over in a moment. I would highly recommend working with this owner or renting this cabin.”

“Clean place with lots of extras. Excellent area with plenty to do.”

“extremely peaceful location and super cozy along with amazing kitchen appliances updated bathroom. I felt like I was at a high-end hotel.”

“Absolutely charming and very well equipped small home. A lot of small amenities to make it welcoming. Didn't realize it had steps, that was our fault for not checking. We found the registration process to be confusing trying to do it through Expedia as it was a vbro. The owner went out of her way to be helpful.”

“This is the 2nd time we stayed here for a weekend swim meet. It's an older home but beautiful.”

“Great cabin with an amazing view. We would absolutely stay here again.”

“The home was perfect. It was pristine, had a well stocked kitchen, the patio area was perfect, the view amazing and the hosts welcoming and super helpful. We will be back!!”

“10/10- Highly recommend; Photos accurately convey this lovely home & pool area. We really enjoyed our stay! The home is beautifully furnished/decorated, comfortable & very clean. The resort style pool is so perfect, peaceful & relaxing, w/great landscaping. Our grandgirls had a blast swimming & jumping off the diving board…floats & goggles were also available to use. The hosts were very nice & responsive.”

“lovely place. totally met our needs.”

“Butternut Cabin was an absolute gem for a couples getaway. The house was spotlessly clean and felt thoughtfully put together from the moment we walked in. The custom kitchen was a highlight—beautifully done and well-equipped. We especially loved that it had an espresso maker; we made several high-quality cappuccinos during our stay and it made the morning feel extra special. The beautiful covered porch, fire pit, and Adirondack chairs made the outdoor space just as inviting. It was the perfect...

“Location was great to Newton & Hickory, just miles from restaurants and malls! House and rooms and baths were clean! We needed an extra night and not all the rooms for 2 people, quite expensive for one night! Great for a family, big yard and carport. Host was great!”
