“The pictures look much better than the reality. The hotel is old and worn out. The service was the most disappointing thing though. I understand the worn out furnitures etc due to the climate and general state of hotels in the area. But the service was poor. Would barely help with restaurant reservations - and when going down to reception to get help, the man working got annoyed I came down for help. He even told me to talk to the restaurant myself and handed me the phone from reception....

If you walk or bike north of the hotel, you can reach abandoned luxury hotels and enjoy views over the mountain. At a shorter distance to the south, you’ll reach some restaurants, grocery shops, and Matira beach. The beach at the hotel has coral. There is plenty of fish and also stingrays. The lights at night make it possible to observe the fish, which is a nice feature. The pool is small but nice, though it is located by the bar, so I preferred using it outside of meal hours. Unfortunately, I got sick after dinner on my last night, so my final evening was not pleasant. Despite this, I would recommend this hotel, and it feels good to support a Polynesian-managed property. "
