“As it turned out we were the only guests in the hotel during our stay so there was only the chef preparing our meals (included) and no other service was available. There was an intial hiccup with our TV and lack of hot water so we had to change rooms but playing a round on the Kinloch Golf course is well worth the trouble.”

“The River Lodge is a beautiful property set in lovely grounds. We had a large beautiful room, very comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and a balcony with a wonderful view of the mountain. We had fabulous breakfasts and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only downside is that it is quite remote - about a 10 minute drive into Ohakune.”

“Stayed here before, four families combining for an Easter packed weekend. The kitchen dining space held us all at a friendly squeeze and we were able to get 20 mouths well fed with the two cookers and fridges there. Great base to get out up the mountain and we also bashed out down the Fishers track which is 500m from the door.”
