Absolutely love this Cottage!!!
We had a wonderful stay in your cute cozy cottage. Everything was immaculate and very nicely decorated. We had everything we needed and loved the location . Lisa is excellent, she stayed in contact from the time of booking to checkout, often checking in to see if we needed anything. We would absolutely stay here again!

Cleanliness prevails. Absolutely clean throughout. Everything that 2 humans & their canine need. Location is ideal. Can easily walk to food, beverage, & local historical venues. Safe, quiet, and comfortable even though located on main thoroughfare. Highly recommend.

Perfectly Sweet Cottage
This cottage was perfect for my 3 generation girl trip (teenage daughter, myself, and my mom). The cottage itself was adorable. Bright, cozy, and enough space for all of us. Everything was immaculate, and the linens/dishes were brand new. We used the kitchen well, cooking dinner a few nights. While the location was a 3 minute walk to town, the outdoor space still seemed private being set back from the road. The view out the kitchen window of the lake was a bonus. I honestly cannot say enough about this property. I even told my mom I could live here full-time.

The property was small but clean and had everything you needed. Our only issue was lack of shades on most windows. It made it difficult to rest during the long days of summer, and made it feel like a lack of privacy in kitchen.

Downtown Munising cottage
I booked for 6 nights May 3-9 2023 for my first trip to the UP. The cottage was clean and tidy and much as described in the listing. It is next to a larger house owned by the same people and there is a shared backyard with a shared grill, not that the weather in first week of May was conducive to spending time outdoors grilling as there had been a big snowstorm on May 1. The reason I did not give 5 stars is that, despite comfortable double bed in the main bedroom, the gas heating was not a typical HVAC ducted system but a furnace in the living area with a directed fan to living room and kitchen which was pretty loud. After the first two nights, I got used to the noise. The owners specifically requested in the house rules not to use the electrical baseboard heaters. I would have preferred to have the electric heating included in the cost rather than lose sleep over the noise of the quirky old gas heater. Would I stay again - in warmer weather without their gas heating, yes.

Perfect location to experience the UP in the winter.
The cottage was perfect for my husband and I. It was clean and had all the amenities needed for a 4 night stay. (For us, any longer we would want to have a washer and dryer). The location is ideal for going to see/do the many things the UP has to offer… snow shoeing, ice caves, dog sledding, the falls, and snow mobiling. I highly recommend staying here!

Everything was setup beautifully by Lisa from the check-in process to check-out. She was always willing to help with anything, periodically checking-in with us. Best vacation we had so far in a very cozy cottage with all amenities.

Adorable Cottage and Great Location
We enjoyed our stay in the Cozy Cottage very much! It was very clean, decorated very nicely and the perfect landing spot to enjoy the area. We mostly hiked among the many trails in the Pictured Rocks National Recreation Area (outstanding!), but we enjoyed being able to walk into town and enjoy a couple of the local breweries. Definitely would book again!

Noisy, small, exposed
The house is on a main street and, despite this being a small town, the traffic noise was very loud. The bed in the main bedroom was incredibly small. (We’re not big people, and we are very close, but it was still uncomfortably small). The bedroom windows don’t have blinds, so we had to hang towels over them. (They kept falling down, so we were regularly re-hanging them). And the owners were rude when we left.

We do ask for honest reviews and do know the review you left is not honest, but a review in retaliation due to the additional charges incurred from damages from you and your pet . We were surprised and horrified by the way the cottage was left after your departure. The cleaning fee covers normal cleaning after your stay, but does not cover the excessive cleaning and damages left by you and your pet to the furniture, linens and shelving. We do not take any pleasure in having to charge for additional cleaning and damages. This is the first time we have had to place a charge on a security deposit. Lisa

Cozy Munising Cottage
The downtown Munising cottage was everything we needed including a great location. Within walking distance to the docks and restaurants and a short drive to waterfalls, trails and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. It is very cute in person. We travel with a husky and golden and were grateful that dogs were allowed. The beds were comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed.

UP trip

Clean and close to everything
My husband and I, and two of our adult children enjoyed three nights in this squeaky clean, adorably decorated cottage in the heart of Munising. This Dwntown Cottage is walking distance to restaurants, shops, coffee shops, ice cream, and Muldoon’s pasties! Also, just a short walk to Lake Superior, where we watched several beautiful sunsets. Pictured Rocks and other attractions are just a short drive away. (Watch speed limit!) All in all it was a great stay, our only regret was we didn’t stay longer!

Munising Cottage
The cottage was a great home base for exploring Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore! It was the perfect size for the two of us, very comfortable with all the amenities we would need. The property manager was very communicative and we were even able to check in early. Loved the decor and all the little extras. The only negative was perhaps put a shade on the bedroom windows for those who don't want to rise with the sun or prefer a little privacy.

A gem of a cottage
We stayed at the downtown cottage in Munising Michigan from May 24 to June 1, 2022. Everything was explained to us thoroughly in advance by our hosts including detailed directions and other facts and useful information prior to our arrival. The cottage is located in downtown Munising but is quite quiet and in a lovely neighborhood. It is near to everything you would want to do in the downtown area including walking distance to the pictured rocks cruise dock. Lots of shops and restaurants to explore and all the many waterfalls and parks around Munising are within a quick drive. Beautiful beaches nearby too. .The location is perfect for quick drives to other locations, including Presque Isle, Marquette, Tahquamenon falls, and Escanaba, The cottage was clean and comfortable with comfortable beds and linens, dishes, pots and pans, furniture etc. Everything was well-maintained and perfect for our needs. I highly recommend this lovely cottage.

Downtown cottage
Pros: Cute little property right in the heart of downtown. Has everything you need for a weekend getaway. Owners were great and gave good communication about expectations of using the property. Place was small but fun for a weekend away if you like the people you are with! Cons: We went during the end of the winter season and the place was plenty warm but the heater was very loud and heat could be stifling at night. We had a day where there was not enough hot water. Overall, for the price and the spectacular outdoor activities that are around (ice-climbing, hiking, kayaking) - this was a great affordable option and I am happy we stayed here.

The perfect winter retreat!
My husband and our dog visited the cozy cottage in January this year. It was the perfect home base for cross-country skiing and snow shoeing at Pictured Rocks! The hosts were very communicative, check-in/out was easy, and we appreciated that the cottage was dog-friendly. We would highly recommend!

Gorgeous pictured rocks!
Being empty nesters for the first time, my husband and I took a trip to Munising. Perfect little place for 2 people, everything was perfect. Close to everything, lots to do and see. The master bedroom’s mattress might need to be replaced. We loved it, will definitely visit again!

Great Location
Really cute and unique little cottage, looks better than the pictures and we loved the beautiful landscaping and flowers. It's well maintained and was very clean upon arrival, was even ready a little early which we really appreciated. Lisa is a great host! The cottage location is perfect to use as a jumping point for exploring Pictured Rocks and the surrounding areas of the UP. Great beaches within short driving distance, and plenty of good take out food options within walking distance. We enjoyed the outdoor seating area. It is in a shared yard and in the view of a larger rental house, so that is something to be aware of if you are expecting seclusion. We were mostly out exploring and so it wasn't a problem for us, but depending on how many people and cars are staying there it can feel a little crowded. Overall, worked well for us (4 adults and 2 dogs) and we enjoyed our stay in Munising!

Cozy convenience
The downtown cottage was our home base for our first trip to the Upper Peninsula. I'm really glad we chose Munising as our base to visit the Pictured Rocks area and the cottage was an excellent location. We were able to walk easily to downtown locations, including our pictured rocks cruise and the grocery store. Everything else was an easy drive. Sand Point beach sunset swimming was our hands down favorite. The cottage is small to be sure but had everything we needed for our family of four. We were able to make breakfasts and lunches and had a nice spot to enjoy our various takeout options.

Great Location and Super Clean!

Summer U.P. Getaway

Great cottage ... great location in Munising
My wife and I have probably done 20 stays at various VRBO properties. That background I have to say that this is one of the two best properties we have ever stayed at as far as how well set up it is for guests. The appliances are new, silverware and dishes are as nice as I would have in my house. Good cookware and a fantastic weber gas grill which allowed me to grill up three great meals for my wife and I. Furniture is great. We slept like babies in the bed with top quality bedding provided. TV , cable service and Wi-Fi were top notch. You can tell that the owners took great care to make sure that the guest have everything they need for a pleasant stay. The location is like one block from where the boats takeoff to go see pictured rocks and within walking distance of everything in downtown Munising. Dairy Queen is a half a block away which tempted me three times during my five day stay. I asked Lisa the owner to see if she can get that moved further away so that it’s not it’s convenient for fattening my way waistline. To avoid any surprises or disappointment I will point out that the courage is small. From what I can tell it was the guest house for a much larger house to the front of the property. Basically two small bedrooms, a bathroom a small living room and a small kitchen. As noted above everything in them was of the highest quality but they are small. It was perfect for my wife and I and would be perfect for a couple with one or two small children. It would be crowded with 4 adults aor a couple with two older children. But it was perfect for us and how we vacation. We get up make breakfast, go out and do things all day then either go out to dinner or can back and threw something on the grill to keep it simple. We couldn’t have asked for anything more but be aware of the right size group for this cottage to avoid disappointment . That said they have a another rental that is a large house which would be great for a group. There is nothing I would change about this cottage and I will happily rent it again wherever back in the area Capt Skip Berry

Cozy Cottage
The pictures do not do this place justice! It was perfect for our weekend winter getaway. Tastefully decorated, stocked with essentials, and within walking distance to dinner and drinks. We spent the days playing in the snow and were happy to come back to a warm and inviting space. Lisa was an excellent host. We will be back again.

Great off season get away!
This was a great three day vacation! The cottage was a great & comfortable place to stay. Loved all the areas to explore and hike. Lisa was great and communication was super easy. This is a great location to get away and spend time outdoors! Loved that I was able to bring the dog along as well. Would highly recommend the area to anyone a must see at some point in your life!
