“Super cleaned place....staff was very freindly and helpful; flexible time and delicious breakfast. It is centrally located so you will find it noisy, but that is Cairo. Keep in mind that there is another hotel with similar name so taxis get confused a lot.”

“Fantastic little budget hotel. premium location”

“Beautiful property near downtown Cairo (15/20 min walk). The hostel is just off a Main Street with shops for snacks and pharmacies etc. The staff are wonderful and help to create such a relaxing atmosphere. Whoever decorated the rooms did so perfectly. Everything you need is at the property and you can get a delicious home cooked meal for dinner if you don’t fancy going out. There are lots of spots in the hostel to relax and unwind after a long day. Would definitely stay here again.”

“The room wasn’t very clean, the blankets had cigarette burn holes in them, and we were only given one towel. There was very little information about the hotel and there was no breakfast when it was advertised there would be. No soundproofing inside or outside, the doors weren’t sealed at all. The staff was present and attempting to be helpful and were very nice. The location is good, but the hotel not so much.”

“Staff and place was great. Location was great too. Only complaint is that they did not honor what we paid for. We paid for city view and got an alley view.”

“The staff are very friendly.”

“Philo Hotel is a small family-owned budget hotel situated on the third floor in a depilated but beautiful architecture apartment block in central downtown Cairo, close to Tahrir square. The staff is super friendly and helpful. My room was clean and spacious, equipped with a hard but still comfortable double bed, tv (Arabic channels only), private shower, balcony, and two large windows facing the street. But since the hotel is situated in an old apartment and the furniture may have seen its best...

“Verkligen prisvärt. Rent och fräscht och för en gångs skull en dusch med bra tryck i i Egypten. Väldigt trevlig personal. Som alla hotell i Egypten så är det väldigt lyhörd speciellt från gatan då deras fönster inte är ljudisolerade. Ta med öronproppar. ”

“Nice kitchen and great common area. The staff was amazing and took good care of me. Excellent location. AC in rooms runs without gatekeeping. Privacy curtains. Lots of showers and bathroom. Needs a deep clean like most busy places and the AC s do need service as the could be much colder. I do recommendthis hostel .”

“Perfect stay ”

“After arrival my reservation was not found and the room that I had paid for was occupied but the staff handled the situation greatly and upgraded the room for the bigger, and according to them, better one. I could stay in that room the whole length of my stay.”
