While the Caravelle property itself is dated and needs updates and care, the unit itself was okay. After reviewing The Caravelle Resort, we were expecting a variety of pools, which was a disappointment. There was one typical pool for the entire main building. To say it was over crowded is an understatement. There were four elevators, but two were being works on several times throughout the week.
As for the unit itself, the bed was extremely comfortable, the view was great, the murphy bed was a great use of space and functionality, and the water pressure was surprisingly good!
There was no dishwasher, which was listed in the amenities. Several light bulbs were out, so without compromising privacy with having the curtains open (facing the walkway), we had to move a few light bulbs to get the most light. While I enjoyed sitting out on the balcony, it was difficult to stand and/or keep things out there to dry, as the air conditioning unit drains onto the balcony, causing the entire area to flood.
Overall, the unit served it's purpose and gave us a place to sleep at night. We made the best out of the week and enjoyed our time at the beach.
