Relax and Enjoy DOWNTOWN MYSTIC. A short walk to everything Mystic has to offer. You are renting our guest cottage known as the Mystic River Boat House (located next to our main home). Recently installed Mitsubishi Ductless Air Conditioning keeps the cottage cool in the heat of the summer!

In 2015, it was completely renovated- 1 bedroom cottage comfortably sleeps 4. Fully equipped kitchen with granite counter tops. Kitchen table seats 4. Full bath. Wash and dryer. Use of grill and deck (spectacular Long Island sound sunsets included!) with picnic table, 3 mountain bikes and two kayaks, all linen, cookware, dishware, silverware and basis cooking supplies are all included in rental. Full backyard is also for your use as well.

Located in the heart of downtown Mystic, a short walk to all of the shops and restaurants you are also 2 blocks from the Mystic River Park with a boardwalk along River with some activity going on almost every non winter weekend whether its a Mystic Eats, pirate festival, Blues concert or the famous Mystic Art Festival. Leave your car(s) in the driveway (if you don't take the train which is a short walk also!) and enjoy our vibrant community by the sea.

Clean well stocked cottage walking distance to Mystic Center

Check in was easy and the cottage was immaculate. Well stocked with linens, towels and paper supplies. The owner was responsive with any questions we had. 5 minute walk to Main Street in Mystic. Our car did not move for the entire weekend. Also reached the Mystic Seaport on foot. Overall it was a comfortable, private and pleasant stay.

Exceptional Cottage, Exceptional Location, Exceptional Stay..

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Boathouse Cottage. The place is clean, well-maintained, and stocked with all the comforts of home. I recommend leaving the car in the driveway and exploring on foot or kayak. Everything is in walking distance from the cottage (downtown, shops, restaurants, Mystic Seaport, Bascule Bridge, Mystic Pizza etc etc) and the use of the kayaks made for a great adventure. Thank you Bob and Kathy for being gracious hosts. We had a sweet time!

Charming place and location

The cottage was in a perfect location-very quiet area and an easy walk to downtown, to many restaurants and to the seaport. The accommodations were delightful-comfortable bedroom, fine kitchen, and relaxing living room. The hosts live next door and checked in occasionally to be sure all was well (it was!). Hopefully, we can stay here next time we visit!

Visiting Mystic

The host was gracious and helpful. We chose the house for it had access to kayaks and was walkable to town, a most unusual combination of features. The house was very comfortable with a pretty well-appointed kitchen. We felt at home. For good food check out the Mystic Dinner.

Beautiful Boathouse

Everyone has different things they look for in a vacation rental; this one hit all my wants. Very comfortable bed, great shower, modern kitchen, and plenty of space to sit back and relax. The unit was very clean as well. We will certainly be returning.

Perfect location

This house was located close to almost everything we wanted to do during our stay. It was great to be able to walk to the downtown area to eat, shop and take in the sites. The playground on the same road was perfect for our little daughter. Thanks for a great stay!

Perfect Location

Perfect location in Mystic tucked away on a side street and a short walk to all the shops and restaurants. Bob and Kath were great host! The cottage was perfect size for my husband and I, it was clean and welcoming, the skylights added a bright and cheerful atmosphere!! The kitchen was well equipped with all the items you’d need and were well presented. Highly recommend this quaint cottage and will definitely stay again!

Perfect location in Mystic.

Perfect location for our weekend in Mystic! Walking distance to many restaurants and shops, and a great playground for the kids. Parking was easy, the house was clean, and we had everything we needed for an enjoyable weekend. Bob was great and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the weekend. Fantastic!

Bob and Kathy’s cottage is a wonderful very Mystic feeling space. Modern kitchen and charming open living room. It has everything you could need including washer and dryer. The bedroom was very quiet at night and comfortable. Perfect location and I had complete privacy (they live in the house across the deck). It’s far better than any hotel in the area in terms of cost and space. Highly recommend!

Fantastic stay!

I have to agree with all the other guests reviews. The Boat House is perfect! From the lovely decor, fully equipped kitchen, bikes, kayaks, and above all location. It’s so nice to be able to walk to all downtown locations and beyond. Parking is limited in this beautiful historic town so it was never a worry. We loved waking up and jumping on the bikes for a morning ride when few people are out and about. We only met Bob, but he is a gracious host. Always willing to provide tips on beaches, restaurants, bike routes and anything else you ask. They do include an awesome information packet, but prefer to get a locals perspective to help narrow it down. We highly recommend this property and would definitely return again even though they are Patriots fans. (LOL)

Boat House

We enjoyed our days and nights in Mystic and at the Boat House. The location was great, easy walk to town for browsing through stores and dining. The amenities at the Boat House were excellent; property was clean; bed was very comfy; and the decorations gave the property such a lovely New England feel. Owners were so very warm and welcoming. Perfect location, nicely decorated

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights over Labor Day weekend. This adorable boat house has everything you need and is in a perfect location to shops, restaurants, river and bridge. Decorated beautifully, stocked with everything you need, and comfortable bed. Very clean and we enjoyed sitting on the porch with a cool breeze off the water. My husband enjoyed the use of the kayaks. Bob and Kathryn are great hosts and we would recommend this place and would return again.

Perfect runaway

The property was easy to rent, easy to find and location perfect. We enjoyed staying at this location as it was close to the water, Good food, excursion. Our hosts were easily accessible, friendly and quiet. The property has everything you need (except food) to make this trip worthwhile. The air conditioning was not used as opening the windows breeze was cooling the property. All appliances worked perfectly. The property was cleaned and ready for us at arrival. We plan on returning again.

Wonderful getaway in perfect location

We rented this property for a family getaway and had a great time! The location was perfect as we were able to walk to town, the harbor and great restaurants. We enjoyed kayaking on the river and watching the sunrises and sunsets nearby. The house was adorable and clean. Bob was very helpful with all aspects of our stay. We really appreciated Bob and Kath’s guide to the surrounding area and things to do - it was our go to reference for all of our excursions and dining. Thanks!

PERFECT location for Mystic and beyond...

The cottage was perfect in many ways! The profile picture is actually the front porch of the main house where the owners live, but there is a shared deck that connects the Main house to the Boat house cottage. The deck has plenty of sitting space to take in the beautiful scenery. The cottage was perfect--very clean and accommodating. We thought it was odd that the shower was in the laundry room instead of the bathroom, but it was actually genius-- so while someone was in the shower--the bathroom was still accessible. You pretty much only need your toothbrush and a change of clothes; the owners provide everything else from toiletry items (shampoo, conditioner, and soaps) to laundry needs (detergent, dryer sheets) to linens (extra pillow, blankets, sheet sets) to coffee, coffee creamer , milk, and bottled water. We had nice weather so we did a lot of walking in Mystic. EVERYTHING was well within walking distance. Food, shopping, and even a playground. And just about everything was open in this resort town. (Unlike some towns who have an off -season such as Berlin, St Michaels, Watch Hill...) This cottage is only 2 streets away from the Mystic River waterfront boardwalk and the drawbridge. Between those two streets (Willow & Cottrell) is the very clean and well maintained Mystic River Park and Playground. This rental is also perfect for destinations beyond Mystic. We often visit Watch Hill RI, and go even further up the coast to Bar Harbor ME this will be our go to lodging for future New England trips as either a waypoint or a destination. We are from MD and stayed at the Boat house and roamed Mystic the first day, then next morning went to Watch Hill- only 25 minutes up the road we went for the beach and my daughter likes to go visit Harkness House. Not much was open due to the off season, and also power outages and damage from the storms. And then returned to mystic for dinner and evening strolling though Mystic. On our way home through New York we were able to jump off of I95 and hit PSleepy Hollow and Tarrytown on the Sadly, New England was hit by some really bad storms just before our arrival that did quite a bit of damage, and the standing water, downed branches and higher than average winds were still present, and things appeared in slight disarray during our stay-- so, we did not partake in all that the owners had to offer, (bicycles,kayaks, fire pit) but that still did not negatively impact our stay in any way.
