You can walk, bike or drive to a small, secluded beach on the Sound for another breathtaking sunset view. Bring your paddleboards, kayaks, toys and a picnic. For larger boats, launch from the community boat ramp. You can swim in the ONHC Sound-front community pool.

Prefer the ocean (and who doesn’t!)? Tons of free parking along the Beach Road. Your closest access is at Enterprise Street and Loggerhead Street. You can walk or bike as well.

After your fun in the sun, head back to the house to lounge in the hot tub or on that wrap-around deck, featuring comfy chairs and built-benches for great conversation. Set up the table and chairs, located in the screen porch, to enjoy an outdoor meal that you’ve prepared on the grill. For alone-time, escape to the hammock and saucer swing underneath the deck.

Sound Chief is centrally located at milepost 13.5 in Nags Head. Shopping-grocery, restaurants, and retail-abounds at the Outer Banks Mall next door. Visit The Wright Brothers Memorial and Museum at milepost 7 and Jockey’s Ridge State Park. Climb the dune for spectacular ocean-to-sound views. Don’t forget your kite! Golfers can head to the Nags Head Golf Links next door.
