Lakeways is a custom-built 4-bedroom A-Frame home — the most well-equipped vacation rental near Lake James. With a full gym, bunk room for the kids, and a game room anchored by a 70" TV, this is where groups come to actually disconnect.

Lakeways is a custom-built, 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom A-Frame mountain retreat near Lake James, North Carolina — nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains and designed from the ground up to be the best vacation rental in the region.

This is not a standard cabin. This is a fully equipped base camp for the best weekend you've had in years.

Note: Lakeways is situated near Lake James but does not have direct water access. The closest water access point is Brier Creek Marina, and we also recommend Lake James State Park for beach access, swimming, and paddling. Two kayaks are provided — just a short drive to launch.

THE MAIN LEVEL

Step inside to a sun-filled living room framed by large windows and panoramic mountain views — the signature of the A-Frame design. The rocked gas fireplace anchors the space, perfect for cool mountain mornings and late nights with good company.

The chef's kitchen is fully stocked and built for a crowd: large island, seating for 10+, Keurig and press coffee makers, Instant Pot, full cookware set, and everything you need to cook a real meal together.

The covered deck off the living room is where mornings happen. Mountain views, fresh air, dining table, charcoal grill, and room to breathe.

The primary suite features a king bed, dedicated workspace with monitors, and a spa-worthy en-suite with a custom-tiled rain head shower, bench, and dual vanity.

The 2nd bedroom offers a queen bed and 43" smart TV. The 2nd full bath features a jacuzzi tub — ideal for unwinding after a day on the lake or the links.

THE LOWER LEVEL

The lower level is where the fun lives.

The game room features a massive sectional, a 70" TV, and a multi-use table that converts between ping-pong, pool, and dining. Bluetooth speaker. Dart board. Games stored throughout. This room runs late.

The 3rd bedroom (lower primary) features a queen bed with en-suite tiled rain shower — private and comfortable for guests who want their own space.

The 4th bedroom is the bunk room: four single bunks, a 43" smart TV, and a dedicated play space for kids.

The graveled fire pit area with string lights is the heart of every evening at Lakeways. Firewood is provided — gather here after sunset, light it up, and stay late.

The back deck features a gas grill for cookouts and al fresco dinners. A picnic table area and ring toss round out the yard.

Two single kayaks are available — drive 5 minutes to Brier Creek Marina or Lake James State Park to launch. Adult and kids life jackets provided. We also provide a cooler, beach bag, and beach toys to make your lake day effortless.

Ample parking for boats, trailers, and street-legal ATVs. No HOA. Full privacy.

Lake James is one of North Carolina's cleanest lakes, surrounded by Blue Ridge Mountain views, sandy beaches, and quiet islands.

Lakeways does not have direct lake access, but water access is just minutes away:
