It was a good experience overall, friendly staff and nice bar in the ground floor. The room and bathroom needed a bit more love in terms of cleaning.

Just what we needed. At first we thought the music would be very loud for a Saturday night but slept through it all. Beds were very comfortable and staff was polite and helpful

Stayed over 2 nights, the toilet seemed not cleaned, the refrigerator also was not cleaned from the first point. I have stayed on the weekday so I didn’t find any problems with the sound.

Good value for money-would recommend
Clean, basic pub style accommodations. Get room with balcony if possible. Shared bathroom isn't ideal but its a good place for a quick overnight stay. Pub area downstairs have good food options available

Staying here was a lot better than we expected. We stayed in a double bed room which was modern, clean and had a full length mirror & tv plus was big enough for us to store our bags and still have enough space to move around. The bathrooms were also more modern and cleaner than we expected. It does get noisy at night because it’s a pub but we did sleep straight through the noise and it wasn’t an issue for us.

Stayed on a Tuesday night for work in Newcastle the next day and had a very quiet and restful sleep, but the place certainly looks like it has the capacity of being a bit noisy on a Friday or Saturday.. Room comfortable and you can tell there is a young mind in the background making decisions because of the modern "wood" clock/radio and the USB power points. I'd go back.

Staying on a Saturday night with two children is not recommended as the music downstairs does not stop until 2 am and you have your children up until then as they cannot sleep When booking you should be made aware that the ‘pub noise ‘ can be significant and affect your quiet space in the room

The second time I've stayed here, it's a grear find. The bathroom is excellent & roooms are well appointed. In a location that is handy to so many things. Ate at the restaurant and I was impressed. Staff are fantastic! Only negative, cheap crappy pillows.

Great Pub to Stay At
This was the second pub I ended up staying at on my trip up North and honestly, I was really, really impressed. It seems as if they have completely refurbished the place because the rooms were top notch, and really comfortable as well. Actually, the pub itself was pretty cool as well, though they do close relatively early (then again it was a Monday when I ended up here). Still, I was pretty impressed with the place, and while it isn’t all that close to the railway station, there is a bus stop right outside which is a bonus.

Never again.
Most workers at the pub down stairs were rude, obnoxious, unhelpful, ignorant, and plain useless. Manager laughed when my partner told him about an oh&s hazard in which he hurt himself. Cleaners were very friendly, helpful and accommodating

A good stopping place.
Beautiful rooms with an eclectic musically themed twist. Very stylish, with a fun atmosphere in the pub below. Was looked after by Natalie who was spectacular and sociable. Only setback for me was that I prefer a quiet room and the pub noise was on until quite late. And apparently it was considered a quiet night. I would advise some double glazing on the windows to reduce courtyard banter, to which I could take part in from my bed.

The Greenroof - Newcastle, NSW
My friends and I stayed at The Greenroof last weekend for 1 night (Friday) to watch the Newcastle Jets in the Hyundai A-League. The Hotel looks oldish from the exterior, but from the inside the place is practically brand new. The rooms are small but are very swanky looking and are attractive to the eyes. Showers were massive! Very cheap place to stay and very clean - highly recommend if you are staying in Newcastle at a budget.
