“Harmonic, clean and calm hotel with a lot of amenities. The private baths were amazing, the public bath was also very nice. The traditional breakfast was really interesting. Not all things were to our liking. Natto for example was an acquired taste but overall it was really nice to try the genuine Japanese cuisine. The staff was also extremely helpful the day we checked out. My fiancée unfortunately had to go to the ER. The staff helped us to call the local hospitals to see which one was...

“Our stay at the GrandWest Arashiyama was exceptional. The room was spacious and clean, reception was incredibly helpful, and the location was quiet and idyllic. During our stay we made the most of the amenities including free refreshments, a washing/drying machine, and a cute cafe situated just downstairs from the hotel entrance. Our stay here was easily one of the best parts of our trip to Japan and I highly encourage those visiting Arashiyama to consider this hotel!”

“Real nasty moldy look on the ac unit in the roof, dust on the walls and on top of the bathroom mirror. Zero soundproofing on the corridor door. And old electrical sockets even in the bathroom with no earth. Time for them to renovate the 14th floor and get a cleaning crew that atleast looks up. Everything else as you expect in Japan with great service etc. ”
