“We loved this cabin. It was comfortable, situated in a heavily wooded community. The screened in porch was huge and a great place to relax and enjoy the weather. We had come from triple digit heat indexes. This stay was just what we needed. ”

“What a great property! My wife and I had our two sets of parents with us for a long weekend in DC. We loved having Lakewood Lodge as our home base for adventures around the county, as well as our refuge when it was time to relax, nap, or cook dinners in. We loved unwinding in the evenings in front of the three-season porch's fireplace with glasses of wine. Beds were all comfy. Kitchen was well equipped. The only thing that could have been better is that a few of the light bulbs around the house...

“It was very private and quiet. It was close enough to town to bike back and forth. The cabin was clean and well stocked. The porch was lovely but did have a couple of gaps for mosquitos to get in. I brought some 3m Thermocell and that helped with mosquitos. The stairs are not for the faint at heart or if you get up a lot at night. I alway hate the extra cleaning fees as I don’t make a mess and to me, that is the cost of doing business. The local taxes are high too. ”

“We had a very nice week at Mia’s Black Dog Lodge. Everything about the house was top notch. Seeing many eagles around the lake was a huge bonus! One even landed in a tree next to the dock. Fishing from the dock was great for the little ones. Unfortunately the algae prevented us from getting into the water. This is a wonderful location and the lake is beautiful. ”

“We just love these cottages and the community. It is absolutely beautiful in the summer and winter. Everything is clean and this cottage had all the kitchen utensils and equipment needed. The only think is the upstairs area gets quite warm to due to fireplace having to be on. Maybe install another ceiling fan in the bedroom? We just loved our stay and can't wait to visit again.”

“Worked great for us with bedrooms on three levels with three different living/family rooms. Kayaks and canoe were fun for a quick spin on the river. Paddle upstream first so the current carries you back. ”

“This home is a great location for gatherings. It has 4 comfortable bedrooms and large open accommodating common spaces. Even though it rained almost our entire time the living spaces kept us having fun together at the large tables and great room style TV viewing room. We would have loved to have used the kayaks and canoe. Next time!”
