“We were traveling from California to Michigan and made an overnight stop in Council Bluffs. Since we were traveling with pets, we needed a pet-friendly hotel and chose the American Inn after reading many positive online reviews. The staff was very kind and friendly, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the condition of our room was disappointing. The moment we walked in, there was a strong odor that smelled like mold. “We could hear people moving and running water in the room above us, but not unusually noisy. Some light fixtures didn't work (light bulbs?). Otherwise, clean, comfortable, seemed safe.”

“Everything was excellent, including the coffee, which is usually terrible at all hotels”

“A little out of the way but the property was clean and comfy.”

“The hotel is undergoing renovations. Once the renovations are complete I am sure the hotel will be greatly improved.”
