The apartment itself was clean, but that was about the only positive aspect of our stay.
The surrounding neighborhood felt unsafe, especially at night. When we arrived late to check in, there was a memorial with many used candles set up right in front of the apartment, which was unsettling. Nearby buildings showed graffiti and vandalism, adding to the concern. There is no designated parking for the unit, so we had to park across the street. Fortunately, our car was not damaged, but we felt anxious the entire time.
On the positive side, the host was kind and communicated well.
However, several basic amenities were lacking. The TV remote did not work, and even simple items like kitchen towels were not provided.
The location is close to Berkeley, which is convenient, but due to safety concerns, especially at night, I did not feel comfortable staying here.
Traveling with women and children, I would not recommend this property.
