Escape to Montague Harbour to a beautiful home where the Forest meets the Ocean. Your adventure begins with a complimentary boat pickup! Our little magical Island is Parker Island which is between Galiano Island & Saltspring Island. We are part of the beautiful Gulf Islands in BC & a ferry ride away from the city of Victoria, BC. Parking for your car is available (complimentary) where we will personally meet you and bring you across calm waters to our residential-only island. The scenic crossing takes just 10 minutes and is safe, smooth, and serene—perfect for easing into tranquil Island life.
We will arrive at our dock where perhaps our residential seal will pop up to welcome you! We will help you unload your luggage & food and transport you via our vehicle a short two minute ride up to the beautiful cottage for you to settle in.
The cottage is beautiful, bright and new offering a spacious feeling with the vaulted ceilings and lots of natural light. Peaceful views of nature from every window will quickly embrace you to slide into the slower tranquility of "Island Life".
In addition to the two fully enclosed bedrooms, there is also a spacious Loft area accessible by ladder only. (If you are wanting to use these beds please ensure you are fully comfortable to climb the secured ladder to this space). The Loft area features two Queen beds with a privacy curtain between the beds. Please note that while the Loft is very open and comfortable it is not full ceiling height. These two beds are a wonderful area if you are having an escape weekend with teens or young adults ~ you have the full cottage while they have their private space in the Loft for their own privacy. The Loft is also a wonderful space if you want to share the cottage with friends and each want your own bed. (Our maximum is 4 guests per visit).
We offer you a unique escape to tranquility surrounded by ten acres of serene forest and two private West Coast style beaches. The terrain offers areas of hills and flatter areas for your choice. No matter which walking areas you choose, sturdy walking shoes are highly recommended for your enjoyment as the terrain is uneven. No paved roads or paths on our tranquil Island!
You can enjoy relaxing on the beaches, in a hammock in our private forest area or by a cozy fire (depending on fire bans), Our Island is beautiful to walk around and enjoy scenic views ~ sturdy walking shoes recommended. Watch the seals, eagles, sunsets, sunrises & nighttime star gazing to decompress & enjoy nature.
This is How to Arrive ~ Begin your journey with a scenic ferry ride aboard BC Ferries to Sturdies Bay Terminal located on Galiano Island. (We strongly suggest advance reservations to avoid disappointment due to no space on the ferry). We are happy for your check-in & check-out to be arranged around the BC Ferries schedule.
Upon disembarking from the scenic BC Ferries journey you will then drive the peaceful 10-minute drive to Montague Harbour Marina. Complimentary parking is available & super easy to locate. We’ll meet you at Montague Marina to bring you across calm waters in our private boat. The crossing takes just 10 minutes and is safe, smooth, and a beautiful way to begin your stay on our residential-only private island.
Coming from Tswassen BC Ferry Terminal your ferry ride is about 55 minutes. (This is the side closest to Vancouver).
Coming from Swartz Bay BC Ferry Terminal your ferry ride is about 90 minutes. (This is the side closest to Victoria).
You can also choose to arrive by SeaAir Float plane to Montague Marina. We can see the float plane dock from our property.
****Very Important Note: No Grocery Stores (or other amenities) on our Island. Please arrive fully stocked with all your food and beverages. We will help you load onto the boat. The kitchen is super well equipped to enjoy preparing your food.****
****Galiano Island has a **few** options for groceries and supplies before you reach the Marina, but we do recommend ***planning ahead and shopping before your arrival.**** The stores might not have what you want and also may be closed. We will stock the kitchen with Coffee & Tea, Sugar, Honey, Olive Oil & Vinegar, S&P, as well as some basic herbs & spices. We do live on the property so might be able to help you with a condiment/grocery item forgotten.****
We love the tranquility of our Island and would love to share it with you. We do have a few other neighbors on the Island sometimes but we love to meet new people! We are here to answer questions and ensure you are comfortable but will give you complete privacy at all times.
