Gorgeous and clean house, beautiful views outside, (from either of the porches), loved seeing the horses from afar, and also the deer and listening to the birds and the rooster nearby. 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone who would be in the area. Beautiful property in the country with lots of usable space for family members staying and the visitors we had from the area. Sydnee was gracious and accommodating and had everything we needed. I know there is some needed upkeep in the works, but it did not inhibit our stay at all. Absolutely charming and comfortable and a great place to host get togethers. Loved it and will stay again next time we are in the area.

House is beautiful, property is beautiful, host is very accommodating and readily available. We got to take our pets with us which is mandatory for us because we don’t board. This is our second stay and look forward to the next. Can’t say enough about what a gem this property is.

Sydnee has a beautiful home and property and is an extremely accommodating host. Very family friendly with lots of toys and things for little ones. Rooms and common spaces were clean and inviting, and the kitchen was very well equipped. My friends and myself had a great time on our trip in no small part to having an awesome home base. Will definitely try to book again if I find myself travelling to the area in the future.

Ohio River Manor/Lesage WVI'm sure this property was once a beautiful stately manor but it now needs lots of TLC inside and even more outside. The house is large with multiple rooms displaying a lot of interesting family history. The kitchen is well supplied and the master king bed and upstairs queen bed were comfortable. The bathrooms have been updated but the master shower has missing or broken tiles. All floors have been updated and covered with beautiful oriental rugs. There are new appliances such as refrigerator, dishwasher, washer, and dryer. Unfortunately many of the ceiling lights were burned out or no longer worked. Rotting floor boards and rusted/dirty furniture on the kitchen screened porch prevented us from using it. The front porch also had rotting wood columns and the untrimmed trees and bushes obstructed the views of the expansive property. It was disappointing that the river view was also obstructed and what used to be a river front covered sitting area is no longer accessible due to rotting wood and fallen trees. The entire house, inside and outside, needs a thorough cleaning including all corners from ceiling to floor and baseboards. It is my hope that this house and property will get the care it needs to restore it to the gorgeous property it surely once was.

Ohio River Manor

This was our second stay at this home mostly do to the fact its close to other family, accepts pets, and has a private larger yard. We also like the old historical nature of the home. I mentioned on my previous review of the home needing some TLC. The home is still the same, no fixes that we can see from two years ago. Some things inside need fixing, but mostly the exterior wood trim,porches, and landscaping. I find it sad to see this Historical home roting away. There is so much potential. I would also love to see the sitting area on the river fixed and cut back to see the river once again. The host is pleasant and has good communication. The host does stay in a house less than 200ft from the home, so be aware of that Inside, its like walking back in time(good wow factor). The kitchen is also supplied well.

Relaxation 101

This house just oozes history, good times, and relaxation! We also stayed here in 2022, but enjoyed it this time even more. We spent lots of time on the front porch catching glimpses of the sun or moon reflecting off the mighty Ohio River, watching for deer, and visiting with family. Sydnee is a gracious host and made us feel very welcome again this visit. We accidentally left some clothes behind and she called to tell us before we got very far away so we could go back to get them! We hope to stay here again next summer!

Great stay

This is our third time staying at this property. It's very large and beautiful. There is plenty of room for everyone to stay. Peaceful and quiet property and our host is always very helpful and accommodating and easily reachable if we have any questions. We will be back again next year! :)

Relaxing week in West Virginia

We absolutely loved our stay at Sydnee’s beautiful home. Sydnee was accommodating and responsive. The house is such a gem and the stay was fun and enjoyable. The boys loved fishing in the pond and everyone enjoyed the porches - they were used daily to watch the deer, geese, squirrels, rabbits and birds- this is a nature lover’s dream! We also enjoyed star gazing at night. It was a much needed break from the city life and we most certainly hope to stay in this beautiful home again. Thanks for a wonderful week of beautiful family memories that are priceless!

Beautiful Property

We loved this historical building. The interiors were beautifully redone. It was nice and private as well. We were able to relax and have fun here with no issues. There was plenty to do in a short drive away for fun day trips as well.

Wonderful Gem

The house was wonderful and charming. We ended up calling a group of friends to give them a tour of the house because we were so impressed. The pictures online don’t quite capture how charming and peaceful this property is. My group of friends were all delighted and would be glad to come back as we travel around this area often.

Cousins Weekend

What a fantastic location. We enjoyed walking the property and viewing the river below. The inside of the home was exactly what we wanted, in fact, it was hard to leave the place. We felt at home. The kitchen is so well appointed that we were able to prepare most all of our meals there. It was easy to get to downtown Huntington to explore. Sydnee is a wonderful hostess and most gracious when I lost my wallet, she said we could stay an extra hour while we worked with authorities. Lost it downtown. Found it!!

Dated Home by the River

Property was very personal to the owner, with family pictures and “down home” decor that was family oriented. Feel of the property was “step back in time.” The property heating and cooling was a little difficult but that was able to be adjusted to the fall temperatures yo-yo. We took our pets, and they seemed very comfortable in the surroundings.
