“Was a really nice and quirky place this old pub! The room was nice with a sink and shower. The downsize was not having toilet in same room. The staff was very forthcoming and the breakfast! For someone enjoying good English breakfast this was really good! There could be some sound from downstairs during evenings but what could you expect when staying in a pub?! One thing that would benefit more would to update the bathroom in the corridor. It's really in need of some TLC! We would...

“I booked two nights for myself and my 12 yr old daughter. I was looking for somewhere with a bit of character, that was away from all the noise and bustle, had a good breakfast to set us up for the day and food available in the evening. I was not disappointed. The Weary Friar was such a great little find, a proper country pub with great food (nothing too fancy), friendly staff and peace and quiet to wake up to. Will definitely head there again!”

“We stayed in the garden suite. It was lovely. My only criticism would be that one of the legs on the futon in the living room area was broken. Our Daughter said the bed in the smaller bedroom wasn't very comfortable so we used spare duvets and a blanket to make it more comfortable. The small garden area was ideal for our dogs to be able to give them some space to toilet etc. The food in the pub was very nice, my only criticism would be the lack of vegetarian options. Overall we enjoyed our stay....

“Had a lovely stay for few days and good location to explore local area, especially Steam train with Staverton station walkable distance. Food really good and we were pleased with how well they catered for gluten intolerances. Really friendly staff.”

“The Globe is perfectly located in the middle of town within walking distance to shops and waterfront. They offered a great breakfast and dinner menu alongside a cozy pub atmosphere. Housekeeping was excellent and our room was perfectly clean and restocked when we came back every day! The Sticky Toffee Pudding was Amazing!”
