Disappointing stay - shared space not disclosed on the listing
Raised the following issues to the property manager who promised a partial refund but that has not happened. VRBO was responsive and refunded their own fee even though they were not required to do so.
1. Some of the photos and the description of the property are just false - the property itself is on the second floor only and the first floor is occupied by a restaurant and a boat rental agency (which is not mentioned in the listing). This was completely deceptive and unacceptable.
2. This is a new property that was rushed into service before summer ended so, we encountered loud and dusty construction right outside the entrance of the property. The construction worker apologized to us and indicated that he had no idea that the unit was rented. One of the members in our party has asthma and he basically couldn't step out of the unit until the afternoon and that day was ruined for our group.
3. The general upkeep around the property was poor but the property itself was fine. There were bags of stinky garbage lying around the entrance of the property for the first day or so. The exhaust vent of the restaurant kitchen is located right at the entrance of the property, and it smelled of chicken / fish on all days which was bothersome since most people in our group are vegetarians.
4. The wifi was spotty at best and not working most of the time and we were informed during check-in that they were awaiting their internet provider to install wifi extenders.
