We chose to stay at Ostional Turtle Lodge due to the proximity to the beach where our tour was scheduled. It is definitely off the beaten path a little bit, but that's what makes Ostional such a special place. A short walk to the beach passing a couple small little restaurants made it perfect. “A great hotel with a nice pool, beautiful garden and good food. Friendly and service minded staff. An extra plus for the large refrigerator in the room. Carillo beach is approx. 2 km from the hotel and is one of the nices and family friendly beaches we saw in CR. If you don't have your own car, the hotel has a complimentary shuttle to the beach every hour. The hotel also brings sun beds and a fresh water shower for the guests to use at the beach.
