This is a wonderful campground located on the ‘wrong side of the levee’ along the banks of the Mississippi River - it does close occasionally due to flooding. It’s a wonderful place to sit and watch the traffic go by.

This one is six barges long by three wide making his way upriver, empty. ( the average barge is 200 feet long by 35 wide making this one 1200 feet long by 105 feet wide, minus the ‘pusher boat’. Which makes it bigger then the ore ships we saw earlier this year on the Great Lakes ) Capacity when full is 1,530 tons, each! Roughly half the cargo carried by these barges is grain coming from ‘up north’ to the port in southern Louisiana!

“My husband and I had such a wonderful stay! It was only one night, but we definitely want to come back soon. This location was perfect. Just a 10 minute drive from the first National Bank Arena, and after the concert, we went back and got drinks at the bar across the street. In the morning before we left, we went downstairs and got coffees next-door. Literally could not have been a cuter or more convenient area!”

“The stay was great. There was an issue for about an hour with the internet, but that is no fault of the owner (Remote worker here). I think certain areas like doors could use paint touchups. I am someone who likes to watch tv while in the bed so please put a small tv in the bedroom. It would be nice to have an extra blanket if needed while watching tv. Yes, I would stay here again. The gated group of apartments gets a thumbs up from me.”

“Morgan made our Christmas trip so enjoyable. We were SO glad we did this amazing mod/retro/boutique vibes as opposed to a cookie cutter hotel. The furniture is cozy, the bed is awesome! The bathroom has heated floors! It’s a short walk to Central bbq, friendly coffee shop Otherlands - you’re a hop, skip and jump to Overton Park and the zoo! Keyless entry everywhere makes it SO convenient! We felt really safe and parking is close to the building. The TVs are super large so it was fun...

"Stayed in double twin - great room and fantastic bathroom. Free shuttle to town very handy (Sherene was great and gave good tips). Avoid all restaurants except the top one. Options not available and salads partly off. Breakfast horrible and very expensive for what you get. No tea, no regular milk, cutlery not complete, overcooked food and sugared fresh fruit, hardly any staff around.. the hotel offered a small reduction but still had to pay 75 dollars before heading for a proper breakfast elsewhere. Not sure about the activities - serms you have to bring your own equipment for all so couldn’t use. Decent gym, no pool.."

"Nice, big hotel. Comfortable bed. Some people have written in the reviews that the hotel is in a bad area. It is not. The area is filled with new business. Hotel has totally self check-in witch can be frustrating. However, they have easy communication by their service team by WhatsApp. It might take some time to get some things done but they solved my problems. The elevators didn't all work which could cause some waiting. "
