“Perfect spot for a quiet getaway. The property was beautifully designed and very well kept. It had great amnesties that allowed us to dine in and enjoy the wood burning stove. A short walk to the beach was also a bonus. We would definitely stay again”

“Wir sind zu fünf Erwachsen dort gewesen. Das Häuschen war super und hat alles gehabt was man braucht. Alles hat super funktioniert👍 Der Bruder der Vermieterin der nebenan wohnt war sehr nett. Supermarkt ist etwas entfernt, aber wenn man dieses Haus mietet, hat man ein Auto und dann ist es egal. Wir können diese Unterkunft sehr empfehlen!”

“The room was adequate and nothing special. The hot water at the sink was very difficult to turn on and off. The hot tub is an inflatable pool that was not working and had not been cleaned. A golf course is near but there is nowhere to walk. You need a car to go anywhere.”

The views of the water, back garden, and lounging on the couch just looking at the walls around us were priceless. “Très jolie plage à proximité, et balades sur les rochers de granite. Pas reçu les informations pour l’arrivée mais très bon accueil sur place avec l’aide des voisins. Inconvénients : maison un peu humide et système de paiement de l’électricité avec des pièces de 2€ qui s’éteint rapidement en cours de journée. Bon point de départ pour balades ds le Connemara.”

“Wir haben den Aufenthalt in dem gemütlichen und gut ausgestatteten Haus sehr genossen. Insgesamt ist das Haus jedem zu empfehlen, der Ruhe und einen guten Ausgangspunkt für den eher rauen Westen sucht, und längere Anfahrtswege an die Küste nicht scheut. Die Seelage und die Seeblicke sind jedoch einmalig.”

“Cottage is lovely and easy to find the local village is walkable and has everything you would want with shops and great restaurants (reasonable prices too) the only small thing we would suggest they improve is the lighting in the kitchen which is really insufficient if you want to cook in the evening.”

“The Walsh's home is a perfect haven. Everything was exactly as noted with beautiful details to all the remodeling done. The location is on a relatively quiet road that is about 2 miles from end to end and makes a perfect walk in the AM or PM. You may have a few sheep or others who demand a photo or two. Short distance to Cong and Ballinrobe, Oughterard, and Maam area are lovely to explore. Michael stays in contact as needed as well as gives you space to explore. I will return, hopefully!”

“We loved our stay. Frank and Geraldine Molloy were very lovely hosts. The cottage had all the amenities we needed for our stay. The only thing that was missing was the dryer. There was a washing machine, but not a dryer as listed. The location was perfect. We could visit Galway as well as Connemara Visitor center, and the Kylemore Abby. The cottage was right on the lake, so the morning views were breathtaking. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone who likes a peaceful retreat.”

“Can't recommend enough. Beautiful location on Lough Corrib. We had a family reunion and the house had everything we needed for big dinners on the shores of the lough or in inclimate weather, eating indoors. Oughterard is very easy to get to from Galway on a new road that makes the journey quick. (about 30 mins) The town itself is lovely with nice food options for eating out. The interior of the house is very comfy. Especially the beds. The furniture is a bit dated but did not present any...

Great location, not very soundproof rooms
"We had a decent stay at Galmont. This review is based on a deluxe room with sea view. Good: - Close to train station and main streets. - Very friendly staff. - Spacious room with nice view. Could be better: - Soundproofing in rooms. We heard both TV noise and people talking from adjacent rooms. Noise from the road outside was also fairly audiable. Earplugs are highly recommended. - Draft from window, not very well sealed. - Quite slow and not very attentive service in the Coopers restaurant when we visited. Food was good though."
