Everything was great. Super easy check in and out. We were only here one night so it was super quick. Location was very convenient and things were clean and comfortable. We landed at the airport and spent the night here exploring Pa’ia.

Awesome Maui Stay!

We absolutely loved our stay in Paia, a cute, well thought out space that allowed us to walk everywhere. This is such a convenient location with the amenities for a wonderful stop along the Road to Hana. We couldn’t have been more pleased and would recommend!

Perfect place for a couple

This little cottage had everything we needed for a couple of days of exploring Paia and the beach. Easy walking distance to town and a much longer walk to the beach. Avis was very responsive and friendly.
We saw sea turtles at the beach, about a 20 minute walk from the cottage.

Pristine stay in an unbeatable Paia location I had a wonderful stay at Hale Nihi. The property was absolutely pristine, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with all of the amenities advertised. For me, though, the real standout was the location. You can easily walk to Mana Foods for groceries, as well as seemingly endless restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and shopping in the heart of Paia. Beautiful North Shore beaches are also nearby, making this an ideal home base for exploring this part of Maui. One small clarification for future guests: despite the "Bed & Breakfast" name, this isn't a traditional B&B where breakfast is prepared or served. You'll be making your own breakfast or heading into town—which is hardly a hardship given the location! I highly recommend walking a block to Story Maui presents The Daily Pour for a great coffee and breakfast sandwich. Avis was a terrific host—prompt, helpful, and easy to communicate with throughout our stay. Everything was straightforward from arrival through departure. Hale Nihi was also an unexpectedly perfect location for cyclists. I did the Haleakala sea-to-summit ride during my stay, and being in Paia put me right at the base of the ride. Even better, Maui Sunriders Bike Co. is within easy walking distance of the property and they were amazing to work with. If you want a spotless, well-equipped place where you can park the car and experience Paia largely on foot, this is your place.

Close to downtown, but quiet and a bit out of the way

It has everything you need for making light meals. The bed is comfortable. The internet works. It was spotless. Parking was three steps from the front door. Total privacy. What's to not like?

Convenient room for two

Walking distance to Paia restaurants and shopping is the big appeal here. The room is nice and clean. It has the essentials but it isn’t anything spectacular. The air conditioner worked great and cooled the room quickly. The bed was good but the pillows were uncomfortable. Walls are a bit thin and neighbors woke me up a couple of times. Avis was quick to respond to messages.

Review

Great unit - clean - love the lanai. Bed is comfortable - kitchen has very little silverware but seemed to have mostly everything else. Honestly never used it - other than glasses and silverware for take out. Not crazy about the area - lots of homeless people and run down area as you walk into town. But the owner is a very nice lady who has lived there her whole life - I am just a bit of scaredy cat! Overall the place is great - location not so good.

Acceptable for location

Limited availability means don’t go lots of vagrants/deadbeats in location. No natural light in unit but bed comfy, hot plate useless and no electric kettle, and somebody kept fridge plugged in but turned off cool so our expensive shop wasted.

Perfect town and great location.

Property was almost perfect for us. A little small, but met our needs. Only two issues for us were that the bed was probably not even a queen - I think it was a full - and that the walls are super thin. There are two rentals in this cottage and we felt we always had to he be so quiet, as we could hear the other couple next to us plain as day as well. Otherwise loved it. We sat at the little kitchen table a lot. The free movies on tv were a fun way to end the night. Shower is gorgeous. Quaint little studio. We walked into town often. There is a convenience store literally right next door that sells drinks and snacks. We fell in love with Paia and are so happy that by luck we ended up in this town. Avis, the owner, is super friendly and at your beck and call if you need anything. You have your own little table and chairs outside too and we sat out there often. There were beach towels and even fancy beach chairs with little drink coolers built right in. Loved having the garage that adjoined the cottage so you never got wet walking in (it rained a lot on our trip). Overall, very pleased.

Lovely little spot!

This property was an amazing find for a quick 2-night stay in Paia Town! It was extremely comfortable, clean, and stocked with so many amenities/touches that exceeded our expectations (including coffee/tea fixings, basic condiments, plenty of kitchen dishes/appliances/hot plate/etc., shower gel/shampoo, and extra linens). With limited accommodation options in this area, we were pleasantly surprised to find such a gem. Avis was so friendly and very quick to communicate when we had a couple of questions. Her care for and pride in this space is so evident. We loved the quick walk into the main stretch of town at our leisure, especially as parking down here is such a challenge. So easy and enjoyable. The only detail that I would be aware of prior to selecting this property is that the walls are very thin. If I recall, the listing reviews/details are very transparent on this point, and it is even discussed on the information sheet present in the unit. So not a surprise, but worth noting if this is something you can't get past. Even with very respectful neighbors, we could clearly hear conversation. If a family were staying with kids, etc., or if we had less considerate neighbors, this could have been a bummer. As it was, it was our only small complaint in what was otherwise a perfect stay, and we would 100% stay here again!
