âStayed 2 nights in twin room. The room was small ,however it had everything we needed. There was tea/ coffe/ hot chocolate available in the room that was replenished daily. The room was warm as we were top floor, but there was a fan provided which was very welcome. The bathroom was very small, and you may find a struggle if on larger size, however like rest of property was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to order and really good. â
âLovely guesthouse that has been updated but still has kept its beautiful character. The owners Carl & Tace were so friendly from the get-go and we really liked our room, especially the bed itself, how clean it was and the location. Youâre really close to the centre, sea and a nice little park/gardens opposite. Carl & Tace kindly let me keep my wheelchair in the hallway too which really saved us having to keep putting it back in the car when going out. We also really appreciate that we were...

It was immaculate, big comfy bed
Fantastic shower, tea and coffee and a well stocked kitchen that was spotlessly clean.
Alexa in kitchen to enjoy music if required.
Access was easy and instructions regarding everything were in the folder in the room.
Really enjoyed our stay would definitely stay again and recommend as well to family and friends.â

âFirst time away with my partner on holiday for one night, the rooms were wonderful, nice spacious area and comfy beds. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Just wished the check in was before 3pm but overall wonderful hotel to stay in for a night away or two. Definitely coming back again. â
âI found the hotel perfect for a short stay in Torquay. Only a 10 minute walk to the seafront and free parking just outside the entrance. I had a lovely cooked breakfast every morning with some extra treats. Really friendly place and I'm going back there in the summer. I'm using the hotel as a base to meet my friends who return to Torquay twice a year.â
âThe best way to describe the Great Western is with the two words, quaint and quirky! The house is in the middle of a massive re-vamp, but that did not impinge on my stay, which was short, but long enough to form a very positive opinion.

âThe rooms were clean and well serviced. The bed was solid and comfy. The staff were very helpful. I saw people have had issues with the water pressure in the showers. I waited about twenty seconds for the pump to kick in and it was a great shower.
Comments about the walls being thin. On the first night I had nightmare neighbours. But Steve promptly dealt with them and no more noise. Simples. I was there for 5 nights. Had different, more courteous neighbours during the rest of my stay. No...
âNice comfortable hotel with pleasant staff , gorgeous view ,close to town center, seafront position has easy access to the beach and harbour with many pubs and restaurants and activities along the seafront.â
âDetta hotel har sett sina bĂ€sta dagar. Behöver verkligen renoveras. Ett fyrstjĂ€rnigt hotell ska ha AC och minibar pĂ„ rummet. Detta hotell saknade bĂ„da. Rummets storlek var bra. SĂ€ngen var bra men pĂ„slakanet var utslitet och trasigt. Frukosten var bra.
Personalen vid incheckningsdisken var supertrevliga och hjÀlpsamma. Detsamma kan man dock inte sÀga om personalen vid bardisken. De var allt annat Àn hjÀlpsamma. De har inte förstÄtt att de Àr till för gÀsterna, riktigt otrevliga.

We contacted reception the next morning and they were very considerate and we were offered an alternative room that was more acceptable. The location, food and the staff were excellent. We hope to return.â
