Amazing stay - thanks Laura!
We just returned from a long stay in Paris. I was there 6 nights, my daughter 3 nights and my sister and nieces 8 nights. To manage expectations - this is someone's apartment. If you are looking for the Ritz, Crillon or Georges V this is not the place for you. It has its tiny "wear and tear" imperfections - just like my own home. What you DO get is a spotless, large apartment with absolutely everything you need in a brilliant location. The kitchen is stocked with all the dishes and appliances you will need (although Laura, did not remember to ask you about a coffee maker - we stuck with a jar of instant & loved going to the local cafés). Large bathroom with a tub/shower and plenty of very hot water and a washing machine. Good water pressure. There is no dryer, but unless you go to a laundry mat, you will not find a dryer in a French apartment/residence. The spin cycle is so thorough that your clothes are nearly dry when you take them out and there is a large drying rack. Very comfortable beds with good pillows/bedding. Towels are large and clean. Previous guests have left various supplies - some spices, toilet paper, paper towel, cocoa, coffee, jam, sugar, etc. Bedrooms (3x double beds) are a decent size. 2 are proper rooms and 1 is curtained off from the living room. All equipped with shelves, cupboards and lots of hangers. Rooms have proper shutters to make them dark at night. 2 lead onto the balcony which is amazing. You can see a part of the Eiffel Tower at night. It was quite rainy during our stay so we did not use the balcony a lot. There are 2 sets of keys so coming and going is a breeze. Seamless arrival. The building itself is quiet and you rarely meet neighbours. The best part of our stay was the information we received from Laura, our hostess. Laura sends very thorough instructions, tips & information on Paris & the area. She is available for any (and I mean ANY) questions or issues that come up. I had trouble with the tv and she offered to have someone come and show us how it worked (pretty sure it was something I was doing incorrectly). We had no time for tv so I did not spend time following up. Good Wifi (password reminder left in every room ;) The apartment is close to everything - subway, bus, groceries. Great access to the city - close to Bastille, Place des Vosges. We walked a good 25 000 steps a day. I highly recommend this accommodation and hope to come back. Thank you SO very much Laura!
