“Very beautiful, well appointed home. Serene, lots of wildlife, comfortable beds and great view from the deck. Both front and rear decks are nice with comfy furnishings. Lots of lighting too! Big showers and bathrooms in general. Kitchen was great for preparing food!”

“The cabin was perfect! The hosts really thought of everything right down to a kit in the bathroom with a nail file and q tips and as a woman with thick hair the blow dryer was perfect! The deck was beautful at night with the string lights and with only neighbors behind you it felt so secluded! Kitchen fully stocked, couches and bed so comfortable and the spare room set up for kids with a gaming system was awesome! All of this for a crazy good price! We definitely plan on coming back!!”

“We had a such a lovely visit to the Mountain House with our group of 8. It was clean, spacious, and a perfect layout for our group of two families. The kids had so much fun exploring the yard, playing air hockey, and sleeping in the bunk room. The adults were extremely comfortable in the two bedrooms upstairs. The master is suite is incredible. The property exceeded our expectations and we would absolutely return.”

“We enjoyed our weekend stay at the little cabin in the pines. Cabin is super cute and had the amenities we needed. Location is good and not far from Sly Park/Jenkinson Lake. Only downside is the parking at the cabin because of the hillside. Wouldn’t recommend taking a car but our truck and SUV did fine. Definitely recommend this cabin!”

“Cabin was very clean, roomy and comfortable. Neighbors on same property were very quiet, allowing us to enjoy the solitude of the foothills. While the property is not far from downtown Placerville mileage-wise, you definitely feel more secluded and in a very rural area. Communication was great and check-in was a breeze. We recommend taking the Rock Creek Road to the cabin unless you want an adventure ride to and fro. We definitely would go come back here and appreciate the owners allowing us to...

“- There was a gas leak at the furnace requiring heater to be shut off - Hot tub water was green on our arrival - Lights in the outdoor bar weren’t working - Lighting on outdoor staircase werent working (we had to unload our suitcases down dark stairwell) - Owner was quick to respond but only partially addressed issues. He sent someone to clean hot tub but she came after dark and we never saw her. No one checked in with us to explain why water had been green or explain what was done to ensure...

“The cabin is just as pictured, cozy and inviting, perfectly comfortable for my family. Groceries is just 5 minutes away, Apple Hill 20 minutes and Sly Park just amazing also 5 minutes away. Christine was quick and responsive to any questions we had about the cabin and area. The cabin is very modern, everything digital so just need to be prepared to using your phone to unlock doors and such. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!”

“Beautiful, quiet and well equipped cabin perfect for 2 people. Host communication was awesome. Peaceful wildlife all around the property. Only issue for us was the very small, steep spiral staircase leading to loft was difficult to navigate. Crossing fingers they change so we can come back!!”

“The location was beautiful, the house is nice. The house was clean and had the facilities. The hot tub was fun as well the swing. The house needs some improvement like the kitchen equipment are little old. There is only one AC in the main room, so for really hot day it's hard to sleep. Overall it was good, but if made some more improvements to the house, it will be a beautiful place to stay.”

“This location is very tucked away deep into a hilly little neighborhood. The driveway is steep for nervous drivers but for us it was perfect. The house was clean and well-kept. The bathroom was large for the space. We attended a wedding very close to the location so it was convenient.”

“Beautiful property and wonderful host. Close property was well maintained and provided beautiful areas for lounging and picnicking. Plenty of room beyond that for exploring and hiking. The host was gracious and spent some time talking to us, however was not invasive at all and afforded us plenty time to ourselves. Really enjoyed the animals and meeting the desert tortoise. 100% will stay again in the future.”
