Hej, tack för att du tittade över oss. Vår Casa Mariposita är en vacker lägenhet med 2 sovrum, alla med king size-sängar. Vi har också 2 fulla badkar med duschkabin i marmor.
Vi är belägna i lägenhetskomplexet Chan Bahlum. Bara 2 min. promenad till Mamitas Beach och 30sec. till 5th Avenue (Quinta Avenita) Det lilla intima komplexet har två byggnader med 3 apter. i varje, så ibland känner du att du har platsen för dig själv. Vår lägenhet ligger på andra våningen med två balkonger, en med utsikt över gatan och huvudbalkongen med utsikt över poolen och vackra tropiska trädgårdar, det perfekta stället för kaffe och frukost.

Om vila och avkoppling är vad du behöver, har du hittat det! Vi älskar vår plats i paradiset och vi vet att du också kommer. Många av våra gäster har sagt "Jag har aldrig känt mig så hemma på semester förut".

För större grupper har vi även lägenheten ovanför oss tillgängliga.

We had a few minor issues when we first arrived. We messaged the hosts and they were very helpful and quick to respond to help resolve the issues.In terms of the condo, water pressure in showers and all sinks was quite weak. Also, if you are of average or below average height you will likely find many things difficult to reach. However, a ladder and step stool are available in the suite.Like most pools in the area, this one is quite small. It appeared to be well maintained. There is very little room to sit around the pool area itself. However, the beach is a 5-10 minute easy walk.You really can't beat this site for location. Beach is close. Grocery store is a 5 minute walk. Numerous restaurants, shops and laundry and other services are extremely close. Despite being so close to 5th Avenue we did not find the noise level to be bothersome or excessive.

Lovely Characterful Property

Loved the place. Lots of character, great location, decent amount of space and good amenities. Two balconies (had a lovely BBQ for six adults on the "courtyard" one). Two full bedrooms and bathrooms. Well equipped kitchen (we cooked a fair bit). Tons of handy beach gear (towels, chairs, umbrellas). Prompt and helpful communication from both host and property manager. For perspective, we had family renting a place in a less convenient location for a bit less, and after visiting us, one of them said, "I now feel like I'm living in a hole." Yeah, ours was that much nicer.A few hiccups (but not deal breakers): Issues with keys, hot water, BBQ and TV. On the plus side, received immediate response on all issues and by day two the first three issues were resolved. TV never worked entire week, just an acknowledgement from the property manager that she tested it to confirm it didn't work and mentioned it to host. Not a big deal to us as we had a tablet and phones on which we could stream things, but might be a bigger problem for people with kids (or who like bigger screens). Also would have been nice to hear what, if anything, was being done to resolve issue. Late night/early morning noise/mild vibration from clubs on 5th Ave might bother some people. Didn't bother my wife, but she uses ear plugs, and I moved to 2nd bedroom. With the fan on, couldn't hear or feel anything. Bottom line: overall, loved the place, felt it was a decent deal, and would happily book again.

Horrible stay. The suite shows well but it’s when you stay a bit, it’s true Color’s start to show. The live music BOOMING (no exaggeration) every single night finally stopped at 1am. INSANE ! We were exhausted. We were unable to close the bathroom windows for the duration of the week. Both windows had broken glass (open to the elements) and mechanisms that didn’t work. IT WAS 30C outside and, AND, unable to close the window to the bands. We were locked out of the suite trapped on the balcony for 15-20 minutes as I tried to jiggle the door open. The locking latch caught upon closing. It did it while in the suite as well. Quite unnerving. Keys locked in suite, phones too. We couldn’t cook as the kitchen utensils were soiled, stained, and rusty. I wish I could post the pics. Not cooking friendly at all. The rattan bed was tremendously noisy. We had to take the sheets off and sleep on the futon for 6 nights. The construction noise next door was not really a bother but it went from 7:30 to 18:00 everyday. The suite was clean upon arrival but the second bathroom reeked right from the start. REEKED We did our best to overlook each issue as we were on holiday but it kept getting worse and worse. Never again.

Awesome Customer Service

I had a unique vacation situation that put me in a bind due to a cancellation at a different resort. Lyle and Jan worked with me big time to solve my problem! They are the best VRBO hosts ever! The property is great but the customer service is even greater. I cant wait to book again soon!

Great Location, Nice Property

The property was an easy walk to the beach and to all the action of 5th Avenue. Condo was clean and comfortable with everything needed for a great stay. We had trouble opening the door at check-in, but Lyle quickly worked to find a solution. Communication was great with the owner and he even followed up after the stay to make sure we enjoyed the property. You can't go wrong with this property if you are looking for a non-resort option close to tons of restaurants, shopping and the beach. All within easy walking distance. We would highly recommend.

Such a beautiful space.

Beautiful condo, beautiful setting. The decor is lovely, the beds comfortable. The kind of place you wish you could stay in for months. Less than a block from 5th avenue. The music from 5th bled into the bedrooms and outdoors until late but we rolled with it with the help of white noise sound machine apps. And there may not always be live bands at that particular bar. Won’t discourage us from returning.

Quaint and beautiful

This 2 bedroom condo was just perfect. Everything was just perfect from the location to the essentially private pool as there are only 5 other condos in the complex, easy access with the condo front door no more than 30 feet from the street, perfectly decorated so it feels luxuries, stocked with everything you could imagine, safe area, priced right, every amenity one needs except washer and dryer, but crazy cheap laundry service around the corner will wash, dry and fold your stuff so cheap you will leave feeling guilty without a good tip, owners are awesome and on top of any requests, AC works great, water pressure awesome, water temperatures just like back home, best low priced, high quality restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner across the street on corner called Toscana Grill, two blocks from Mamita’s beach and Freshly Fish - crazy cheap place for drinks with cheap descent food. I’ll try to stay here as much as possible moving forward.

Great location steps to both the best beach and local nightlife

This is a fabulous location which is clean, safe, yet in the heart of everywhere you would want to be. Staying here was one of the best family vacations ever. Highly recommended.

What a find!!

We've been coming to Playa Del Carmen (PDC) for decades, love the town, the beach, the people. We were THRILLED with this unit. You can't find a better location; a spacious "home" in the middle of the city, but far enough away from the noise and yet less than a minute to Starbucks, restaurants and The Street (Avenida 5). A 5 minute walk to Kool Beach Club. Perfect.

We loved the location and the mexico vibe within the condo,lyle the owner was very helpful in bringing this once in a lifetime experience to light with lots of knowledge of the area and so easy to get a hold of, don't stay here if you want a resort controlling what you eat when you eat or what you do for entertainment ,great , great place , the pool was abit on the cool side it didn't get much sun but the ocean is so close and the shady pool was so welcoming after a full day at the beach, it was a clean pool that we had to our selves everyday lol , very great restaurants all within walking distance and many choices of goodness, we are so happy our story of playa del carmen is about us and not a resort that you do the same everyday but of what we were able to experience , do try you wont regret.+ Partingtons. Close to so many things, easy to relax !

We enjoyed our stay very much. We loved having 2 balconies, one to watch the action on the street, and one to listen to the doves while reading and having our morning coffee. We used the pool every day and went to the beach several times. The pool was refreshing! Beach umbrellas were available in the condo which were very useful. The condo is as shown, lovely and clean as are the grounds and pool area. We walked every day to shop, eat and explore the town. There are a lot of terrific cafes nearby. Taxi's are close by if you need one. We used to stay at all-inclusive resorts while in Mexico, we are happy we went with VRBO. Using the Cancun shuttle service Lyle suggested worked perfectly and was reasonably priced. Thanks Lyle and Jan for sharing your MX home!

Perfect Playa Location!

This condo sits less than a block from bustling 5th Avenue yet is surprisingly quiet. The positioning of the bldg is perfect for enjoying evening breezes on the shaded main deck (or people watching from the small front deck). It also keeps the unit cool without excessive AC use. Making online rental arrangements can feel risky, but this unit is exactly as shown in the listing photos. When we arrived it was very clean, well maintained and comfortable. Lyle was wonderful to deal with and went out of his way to provide helpful advice prior to our arrival. We absolutely recommend Unit 2 at Chan Bahlum without hesitation!

Chan Balum- A private sanctuary

Lyle and Jan, what a beautiful condo you have. Everything you need is there. So close to 5th with so many restaurants and shopping is awesome. Beds were so comfortable. Mid Holiday Escape

This property does not mislead in its description! Great location with easy access to 5th Avenue, taxis and great restaurants. Unit was exactly as described with a warm, welcoming vibe. Lyle and Jan were extremely helpful and informative, as was everyone we met in Playa del Carmen. Be sure to use the shuttle service from the Cancun Airport. Flawless service.
