“We just got back from our lovely stay in Maine! We chose this cottage specifically for the nearby lakes and the kayaks. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate, it was cold and rainy pretty much the whole time, but we did get out on the lake once. The kayaks are easy to use. Our host suggested we use a kayak cart to walk the kayaks to the water, but it was only a few houses down and my husband and I front and back carried them if you find that easier. “The property manager was extremely responsive and helpful with the AC not working and the smoke detector going off in the middle of the night. The property was mostly clean except for the windowsills (we had to open the windows to air out the woodstove smoky smell downstairs) and the used kleenex on a kitchen shelf. The bed was very comfy. There is no cooktop or oven in the kitchen, just a microwave and slow cooker. The space is really great; however the surrounding yard has a lot of trash and...

“The little “camp” was spotless, the decor modern and impressive, attention to every detail and comfort well-thought out, and amenities numerous. There were cozy spots for reading or gazing out at the lake. The deck allowed for serious star-gazing. The location is quiet, yet a short drive from bustling Portland or quieter towns. I enjoyed kayaking on the lovely, clear, clean lake, as well as long walks on the camp roads. Check-in/checkout was a breeze. An idyllic getaway!!”
