“Mario the owner and everything guy was the best of all hotel staff I have ever experienced. Breakfast was also the best I have ever had. Hotel is only four years old but still like new and very high quality in all aspects. I recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a room for a day or several days. Mario was very informative and also speaks English which helped me communicate. Thank you for a great experience. ”

“The Luggage Hostel & Suites has a very good location on the hillside with nice views. It is easy to park in the street and calm in the night. It is a charming old villa with special architecture and atmosphere. You can have breakfast or a drink on the balcony with view to the other hillside and the old university. The staff is very helpful with information about Coimbra and you can easily walk to the sights, old town and city center. We would have liked to stay one more night, but unfortunately...

“The apartment arrangement is fine. Next to the University of Coimbra which was the reason for our stay. Coimbra near the University is very hilly, but the area is beautiful in September. Tour of the campus and famous library. The rooms are small which brings back memories of being a student in college.”

“Excellent service and quality of the hotel”

“This is a giant, rambling old mansion that has been converted into lodging. I wish we'd had more time to discuss its history with our host Maria. We wound up here because our original choice had a fire, and we had to find a place at the last minute. We were here to tour the university and it's about a 25 minute hike. In the end, our room was comfy, cool and quiet, and that's what's important to us. BTW, Uber works really well in Coimbra.”

“Comfy bed. Neat, tidy and clean. Fresh fruit available. Bright and spacious. A little tricky to find the first time, but this is more to do with the way google maps depicts the area (and how tired I was when trying to read the map 😉) than the directions received. Very responsive host. Would stay again!”
