BEWARE - Worst host ever, No Cold Air nor properly clean
LaToya was absolutely the worst host I've ever encountered. I have rented many homes, all over the Caribbean & the world & I have never had the problem I had here. Upon check-in we noticed how unusually warm the home was. I immediately reached out to LaToya to whom became defensive, argumentative and unwilling to properly resolve the issue. I say properly resolve because technicians attempted to "charge the AC unit". But it became obvious that the home needed a completely brand new unit however LaToya eluded that cold air was not attainable on the island because of the humidity. Of course not true, again I am an experienced traveler. In addition to the AC issue, we noticed the poor condition of the living room furniture. It had questionable stains, so much that we did not want to sit on it. Then we noticed the towels had questionable stains as well. This uncleanliness caused us to also look at the pillows and bed sheets more closely. Upon pulling back the pillow cases we discovered how filthy and soiled the pillows were. And to top it off we saw a huge roach on the kitchen floor. Who would think this was ok? Apparently the host/owners. We asked her to come by the home to bare witness to all the issues but she was conveniently 2 hours away. We were told to lower our standards and that the price point reflected the less than desirable conditions. This is not the type of experience you provide anyone. The pictures listed here do not show the full story and mentioning that the property has ac is a complete lie. During the one day that we stayed in this cottage it was well above 82 degrees inside with the many fans they placed all over the home because they were well aware of the issue. We decided that it was best for us to leave & requested a refund & she stated that she would only provide 50% after spending one restless night in this hot home (ridiculous). At that point, cutting off communication with the host was best. I handled all my issues with VRBO. We sent several pictures chronicling all the issues. We then checked out by noon on which should have been our first full day in the cottage. The place has potential, the grounds are nice, the pool is great but there is A LOT of TLC needed inside. I am forever thankful for the nastiness of the host (& the home) which caused us to leave because this would have been one horrible 7 day vacation. Please research this cottage before booking.
