If you want to enjoy CR with a local feel and experience this is a place for you. The owners were responsive to questions and w/recommendations sheet to go. We loved CURU and the wildlife refuge, great hiking trails, great beach..”

The location made you feel like you were in the jungle, and we had some bird wildlife sightings from the porch, but is actually very close to the main area of town and all the main activities in the area. “The property was as described and was a nice mix of some modern renovations along with a vintage feel. We loved how it was tucked away under the large trees, and the children absolutely loved the daily monkey visits. The 10 of us mostly spent our time together in the living room area, which has a great open floor plan with high vaulted ceilings. Lush rain forest jungle view off the decks. “The house was very clean and comfortable. The host was very responsive and assisted us navigating the area and services. The washer and dryer were a plus. There were plenty of bathroom and kitchen supplies. The house was in a convenient location and we felt very safe. ”

“To stay here a car is the best way to go—it’s located on a lovely property a bit outside of Santa Elena proper—not walkable to the Cloud Forest and other things we wanted to do, although only a short drive to coffee tours and a nighttime wildlife tour. The house is beautiful in a very contemporary Latin American style. Nice pool, but it was a bit rainy when we were there and sun breaks did not correspond well with when we wanted a dip—but we can’t blame the hostess for that ”

“We love staying at the yellow house. It’s quiet, convenient if you are spending time at the MCFR, the views are great, and there are lots of opportunities for seeing wildlife. Raul is great!”

“We stayed in Casa Verde for 3 days while we explored Monteverde. I love the location as it was away from the town but relatively close. We could walk to the Cloud Forest (make sure you get your passes first though). The house itself was well stocked, although it could have used a heat source as it was pretty cold at night. We took advantage of the hot tub which was a nice treat after our day hikes. Highly recommend checking out El Tigre Waterfalls and Selvatura while in the area. ”

“Property is as described. It's dated but well cared for. The caretaker is great. PLEASE note. Last few kilometers of road are not paved...we had 4x4's was fine. Closest supermarket is a 40 minute - hour drive. Beach isn't the best for swimming but totally remote and private. We loved this place. ”

“Wonderful! Highly recommended - amazing view from the porch, and we saw toucans, bellbirds, capuchin monkey, agouti, coati, heard howler monkeys and manakins-- all while enjoying coffee of the porch. Feels like you're in the middle of the cloud forest but a quick drive or lovely walk to Santa Elena or Monteverde. We enjoyed the trails and the optional al fresco breakfast. Daniela is the best host. Highly recommended! ”

“We stayed 4 different places on our trip and tried to pick unique accommodations at each stop. The Treetop House did not disappoint. We were shocked at how spacious it was. So many areas to explore and all with fun decor. We were only 7 but this could accommodate a much bigger group without feeling crowded. The kicthen is a bit rustic but it worked just fine. We enjoyed our stay - the kids absolutely loved it - and we would stay again.”

“Never again. We had to leave 2 days early and try to find another place on high season for my party of 8 because of over booking. The service was just terrible. To bad, because the area was great. Dont rent from this place.”

"Fantastiskt fint hotell uppe i bergen. Vi tog ett rum med mountain view och trots att vi var där under regnperioden var utsikten underbar. Lång väg upp till rummet som låg högst upp i anläggningen och ingen hiss om man som jag har svårt att gå bör man boka ett annat rum. Hotellet ligger lite avskiljt längst ut på denna väg så man behöver bil om man ska ta sig runt, ingenting i närheten så man är hänvisad till restaurangen om man inte har bil och kan åka in till byn. Maten var god men inget speciellt."
