“We were visiting relatives and found Hickory Hill a really wonderful place to stay, both comfortable and pleasant. It is a working kennel so there were occasional barks but was very quiet at night- you can see both sunrise and sunset from the deck. The area has dark skies so the stars are really clear ... big improvement for us city folks. Very glad they board people in addition to pups! :)”

“This is our Vermont favorite! Perched way up among the hills, this affordable and rustic homestead has spectacular views of the region. There is not another home to be seen from the property. The peaceful privacy is a rare find. Without the light pollution of a city, the stars glow so brightly in the night sky. We loved the spacious deck, whirlpool tub, fire pit, and wood burning stove. “The owner had the place ready to go when we arrived. It was a late arrival, but there were outside lights that were warm and inviting. Plenty of space for our party of 12 (6 adults and 6 kids). Kitchen was welled stocked with cooking necessities, great hangout spaces in the basement and first floor, and a convenient space for ski boots and outer gear in the basement near parking. While visiting we walked a few of the trails nearby, part of the Valley Trail and the Hoot, Toot and Whistle. They were both perfect for our pups, especially during hunting season.
