The property is approximately one mile uphill from most restaurants and grocery stores, with the final approach being very steep. Several taxi drivers would not drive all the way to the property, requiring us to carry four suitcases up the hill ourselves. “We had a great 2 week stay at Villa Duchessa d'Amalfi. First, our host Gaetano was amazing. He arranged boat trips, wine tours, cooking classes and cars for us. And was generally very helpful and super responsive on Whatsapp if anything came up. The place itself was beautiful. The terrace overlooking the ocean was huge and well appointed. We tended to spend mornings and evenings out on the terrace enjoying coffee or a light meal. The pictures are accurate but can't really do the terrace...

“After having missed our stop on the train in Castellamare di Stabia and getting off in the next town down the line, our host was kind enough to drive 7 to 8 kilometers away to pick us up there and bring us to his lovely property, which was very appreciated after a long day of travel to get there. “A great villa, well positioned with commanding views of the bay and beyond. Ample space for 8 people, a great BBQ and good pool. Access is challenging, a small car is advisable for visits to attractions and supermarkets but large cars require a very competent and brave driver. We stayed for a week for a family celebration and the concierge Giada Greco was excellent from initial booking through to our departure, helping to facilitate a very enjoyable week.The reason I have given only 4 out of 5...
