“Enjoyed the stay.”

“The hotel has a nice restaurant, bar area and outside firepit area. Everything seemed clean and neat. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that I booked a room with two double beds via Expedia and received a confirmation back that the room had two double beds. When I called the hotel, however, they said there were no rooms with two double beds and instead the room had one double bed and pull-out couch with could serve as another bed if needed. I said that is not what I booked...

“It was a real treat to stay at the Balsam Inn! The Inn is off the beaten path like I wanted and very very quite. Jenny is a warm welcoming host. “If we could rate Bonnie and Steve higher than 5 stars we would. They were great communicaters before our trip and were nothing but warm and welcoming from the moment we got there. The house was great but what really makes the property is the location and outdoor space. “The cabin wasn’t as clean as I would have liked it to be. There was mud and dirt on the futon and the floors and the vacuum that was there did not work well. Also the shower didn’t drain well because the pitch of the floor slanted the wrong way so you stood in water the whole time while showering. But other than that it was okay.”

“Was the best place I've stayed at in Caroga Lake so far. For larger families, it's great with 3 bedrooms, and large bunks in 2 of them. It was awesome having a full and half bath! That's rare in that area. The downstairs was spacious, just a short walk to the dock, plenty of dishware, the fire pit was nice, the porch and hammock were great, it was quiet, and it's located by the local stores and gas station. “Very clean, private setting. Pet friendly. Enjoyed the pool and front porch! Beds were very comfortable, but the first-floor bed with the Jack and Jill ensuite was too high for seniors to climb into. I traveled with my 87-year-old mother and 94-year-old aunt; they had to use the upstairs bedroom with the lower queen mattress. Great place for a larger party.”

“The host always responded quickly with questions we had. The house was clean and spacious, accommodating our family of 13. The grandkids enjoyed the game room and everyone enjoyed pickle ball in the garage. It was a peaceful, tranquil spot.
