“Beautiful, old hotel/lodge with character. All was clean, warm and cozy. Staff were friendly and helpful. And...great location/views of the Lukla Airstrip i.e. just above it.”

“I’m a former Lonely Planet author (books and their editions include Panama 1, Las Vegas 1, Dominican & Haiti 1, Yucatán 1, and one-third of Mexico 5). I’ve stayed at several thousand hotels. I have my favorites and among them is the Namgyal. It’s not only comfortable, with a wonderful dining room/hang out area, solar room, private bathrooms, hot showers (!!!) and delicious food—best veggie burger I’ve ever had, savory Sherpa stew and divine apple pie—but it’s a place you want to stay for two...
