“2 out of 3 lights in the bathroom didn't work, did mention it to reception who said they'd get it sorted. Wasn't aware there was a private function on in the evening when we'd checked in, went to go into the bar for a drink, to see it was closed for a private function. Disabled bay, my partner, struggled to get out of the car, due to lack of space with the disabled parking bay, it was the size of a normal packing pay. “We stayed six nights and enjoyed it immensely. There is a real homely feeling to the hotel. There were a few niggles but you get them wherever you go. The staff were polite, friendly and most attentive. The bar and restaurant were more than satisfactory and the heated outdoor pool was a brilliant addition. We will definitely be going back especially since my partners friend is residing in Bideford now and we will happily reserve a room at Durant House Hotel whenever we visit.”

“plenty of parking, room was very smart and clean furniture was lovely, iron and iron board was on the landing out side if needed and a room fan... extra teas and coffees. breakfast was good. except mushroom had been cooked with herbs and tomatoes could been cooked long. other than that all good throughout”

“No air con in rooms Renovation work being carried out in the restaurant/bar which we were not warned of prior to our stay and which impacted us. Staff were lovely and friendly”

“We requested two doublerooms but we got two singelrooms. The rooms were not three star quality, they had no refrigerator, no aircondition, and the decor looked like it was from the 70s. The staff was nice, but the management was not.”

“All very good once there, however prior to arrival finding out about the activities timetable was difficult.”
