“This property is somewhat out of the old west. The room was tiny but adequate. The bathroom was some 40 feet down the hall - which makes mid-night runs a drag. The shower was likewise down the hall. However both rooms were, while small, were very clean and serviceable. I thought sure I was the only person in the building it is so quiet. I was amazed when I realized in fact I had numerous other visitors. REgistration was done at another hotel a block away, but my thanks go out to the polite...

“I stayed at the Avon for three nights during a multi-week ADV motorcycle trip through the Southwest and Colorado. Unfortunately, the weather in the San Juan Mountains had other plans for us, and we got thoroughly washed out. That made me even happier to have the Avon as my home base in Silverton. The location is incredibly convenient, right in the heart of town. There is a large kitchen available for guests, a spacious second-floor patio, and even a hiker box where hikers can take whatever they...

“A lovely place in a lovely town. Nice breakfast and excellent hosts. Wouldn't hesitate a second to come back here.”

“We enjoyed our stay very much and plan to return again.”

“The room was spacious and clean. We would stay again:).”

“Great room and it all worked well. It was a bit unusual not to have a personal check in, but they had a good solution for it. The joint bathroom was good, although it felt like there were many rooms to that one bathroom. The stairs up was a challenge with suitcases and a poor back. The room itself was lovely and beautifully arranged. Loved it!”

“Helt OK!”

“If you like noise when you sleep, stay at that hotel.”

“Great experience!”

“Room was clean and tidy. I had to go a block down the street to pick up the key which was taped to the outside door. A little confusing but got it figured out. No chair in the room. Tv remote didn't work. A smoke alarm in another room kept beeping all night due to low battery, fortunately I had ear plugs. All in all, I got a good nights rest, a shower and the in-room coffee.”

“Very unique property. They made us feel like family.”

“Bad smell in building. Sofa bed uncomfortable and was chilly all night. Needed another blanket. Also coffee in room was awful, coffee pot handle broken, no snacks in common room.”

“Excellent experience the place is loaded with charm and character! Thanks!”

“The carpet was stained but the room was clean. There was an odor but not very strong. It was stronger in the hall. It is a very old hotel with a certain charm from the mining days.”

“The coolest place! The host was so nice! The room was great. We highly recommend the whole experience”

“Great location, highly recommend staying here.”

“Location in town was very convenient and easily accessed. Unit had all of the kitchen necessities, beds were fine. Nice and dark in the bedroom. And exceptionally quiet location! We would return if Silverton was a repeat destination for us.”
