“This hotel has ambitions to be a luxury hotel. It probably has been. But now the furniture and textiles are worn out, the flowers indoors has seen its best days, the supply in the small bar in the lobby is very bad. Birds were flying indoors eating from the buffe but no one seemed to bother. The pool had green algiers. When I checked in at 4.30 pm (3 pm is the check in time) the room wasn't available. “This was our second visit. The property is in the most beautiful setting with gorgeous views. The staff are extremely hospitable. The food is so tasty and healthy too! The spa was fantastic and the massages we got were some of the best we ever had. 10/10”

“allt mycket bra, avslappnad, vi åt både i Stefan's fine dining och Magnolia vanlig restaurang, fantastisk mat och service.liksom frukosten! Närheten till den fina golfbanan och två vingårdar (Lourensfourd och Vergelegen) på gångavstånd är också superbra. Helderbergs hiking området bara några minuter med bil. Lite dyrare än en del andra ställen, men man får mycket för det man betalar”

"There was no running water in the entire hotel. We were told there was a water outage in the entire neighborhood. You would expect that a hotel such as Holiday Inn would have a reserve tank especially since water outages are not a novelty in Johannesburg. We were told the hotel was providing complementary drinking water in our rooms and would also provide water for baths. In a family room for 4, there were two 330ml water bottles. Reception wasnt picking up calls from rooms. Overall, not what I expected from the hotel. I hope this was a one off and that they would normally handle all of this better. "

"Wonderful and a little quirky place. Nice rooftop bar with dipping pool. Spacious room with kitchen. Decent breakfast next door at The Wes. Staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again if I’m fortunate enough to come back to Cape Town. I absolutely loved it. The only little minus was the large shower head. I think that with the water pressure, a handheld shower head would be better. "
