This boutique style cottage is a fabulous bolthole for two - just a short stroll from the market square, riverside and all amenities.. 1 step to entrance.

Bathroom: Bath, Double Shower, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Welcome pack. . Public car park, at cost; unloading at the door. No smoking.. Millgate Fosse Cottage has been tastefully refurbished in 2022 to create superb, boutique style accommodation. The open plan living space is cool and contemporary blending with the traditional quirks of a characterful cottage. A cosy bistro table for two, and a compact shaker style kitchen is well-equipped to rustle up a tasty brunch or supper. There’s even a handy Dolce Gusto machine to make your morning brew! Stylish velvet sofas are set around a sleek modern fire and recessed Smart TV for your favourite boxsets or music, just imagine returning here to relax and chill after a day of exploring. Upstairs the master bedroom is tastefully decorated, the kingsize bed is dressed with crisp linen, with Smart TV and walk-in wardrobe. The bathroom has a contemporary free-standing bath with golden fixings, stylish granite tiles in anthracite, a step-in shower and underfloor heating for added luxury.
Richmond offers a diverse location and caters to all tastes. Famously known as the ’Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales’ it is surrounded by stunning countryside and picture postcard villages and is ideal for keen walkers and cyclists alike with a range of routes and trails nearby for all abilities. With much to do however, within a short stroll, the Millgate Fosse Cottage is perfectly situated for your stay. The cobbled market square and quirky lanes leading off, have an abundance of independent shops, galleries and coffee spots. You can enjoy a hearty breakfast or evening meal, with a selection of excellent places to eat. The Norman castle dominates the skyline and a great place to start exploring.
Millgate leads down to the riverside and waterfalls, or meander around the town, take a picnic or enjoy a walk to nearby Easby Abbey. En-route visit the recently converted station, where you will find a deli, artisan bakery, microbrewery, and coffee shop. Look around the art and craft exhibitions and independent shops. The Yorkshire Dales is also an International Dark Sky Reserve, home to some of the darkest skies in the country with large areas of unpolluted night sky where it’s possible to see the Milky Way, planets, meteors and even the Northern Lights.To enjoy the wider area, visit one of the many pretty Yorkshire towns or villages such as Thirsk, Ripon, Harrogate, Leyburn, Hawes, Reeth or the city of York, all of which are accessible within a short drive. For horse race lovers, enjoy a day at Catterick, Ripon or York racecourses.
The cathedral city of Durham is just over half an hour away and is certainly worth a day trip to explore, as is historic Barnard Castle and Bowes Museum. There is so much to see and do in beautiful North Yorkshire, one visit is simply never enough!
