We stayed in the room with the garden, where we enjoyed our morning coffee overlooking the olive trees. You reach the quiet village of Volastra by a small local bus, and from there the hiking trails to Corniglia and Manarola begin. “We didn’t get instructions on how to check in until couple hours before. Maybe 1-3 hours before. So if you don’t have service you’re screwed. Walls dirty. Shutter was broken. Shower room super small. Used lotion bottle left in room. Water faucet for shower hot side gets super hot to the touch and can burn your skin if you bump it in the shower.”
