“It was a nice stay and very unique. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The photos make the place look a bit newer than it is which was fine but we were expecting the place to be much more updated than it was. It still was great and really cozy. Our dog liked the area to run around and the neighbors were very far so it was private and quiet. We liked the smores but there were no smores sticks so we had to go get those which the store is pretty close so no biggie....

“We really enjoyed our stay in the Merlot cottage. First, we appreciated that there's a gated entrance to the cottages. It made for a peaceful stay with no through traffic.We enjoyed having both an indoor and outdoor table to choose from when having snacks in the afternoon and breakfast in the morning. We appreciated that the cottage had both a Keurig type coffeemaker and a drip coffeemaker.We are already discussing another visit and possibly renting all three cottages!”

“The cottages are new and clean. The proximity to the wineries, and especially the Jones von Drehle, which borders the rentals provides entertainment and options for couples needing a break from the stresses of life. Nearby is the town of Elkin, which has nice options for food, wine, breweries, and entertainment. The property owners are communicative and responsive, and very helpful when I left a shirt onsite. I highly recommend these rentals. ”

“Beautiful location directly on New River. Cabin was well appointed but there was a slow leak at the base of the upstairs toilet. Not sure if the seal needs replacing or the toilet just needs to be tightened up a bit. Also, the seat needs to be replaced or tightened up. I would also recommend replacing the charcoal grill. One of the wheels is broken and wants to fall off when moving the grill. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.”
