âThe hotel staff were lovely, we were upgraded to a deluxe room with a hot tub, as it was my partners 50th birthday. Also a lovely touch, a bottle of prosecco waiting in the room with a card.

âGenerally very good stay. Landlady made me feel at home and lent me a parking disc which gave me free parking until 10.00am the next morning.
Very nice cooked breakfast with cereal and proper coffee.
Only small issue was that the curtains let in more street lamp light than I'm used to. Blackout curtains would have been ideal.â
âHandy location to Durham and countryside. Clean cozy and friendly clear communications. Nice touch to have some supplies available on arrival. Felt unclear where to park as other locals parked up but Iâm sure it would have been clear should I have asked.â

"As part of a trip through the area we book this extremely valuable place. Beautifully decorated, nice and cosy bar area and cosy rooms which however were extremely cold and heating did not work.
Breakfast was all heated when plate served and not as good at al as can be expected at a hotel of this standard."
