“When I arrived, the staff could not find my booking. After being there for over an hour, they eventually allowed me to have an inferior room to what I booked. I had to get quite blunt with them and speak to superiors over the phone. It's a good thing I speak Portuguese. They claimed that they don't use Expedia and that someone is posing as them. So they tried to get me to pay a second time (I had already paid through Expedia and could prove as such). AVOID THIS PLACE OR RISK BEING SCAMMED.

"The hotel was clean and comfortable, but it did not live up to the expectations set by its 5-star rating, especially considering the price. For instance, the directions from reception to the restaurant, that was located in a separate building, was vague. Additionally, the reception mistakenly booked the airport shuttle for the wrong day, but the issue was promptly resolved at the front desk. The breakfast options were also limited for vegetarians, with most choices being meat-based. The overall experience and stay were pleasant but it fell short of what one would expect from a hotel of this category."
