Stay on the farm - 1 bedroom cottage with deck outside of Davis

  • About this space
    Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. Stay on the farm and enjoy exploring. Nice porch & fire pit to enjoy the days and evenings. The farm is 40 acres which includes two acres of organic vegetables. There are chickens, sheep, cows, goats and one pig. Most weekends you can enjoy watching the skydivers across the road at the Yolo County Airport. Spring, Summer & Fall weekends, the farm brewery may be open too!
    The space
    The wood frame dodecagon (12 sided) is complete with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, heating and air, queen size bed and two chairs to enjoy. The nice bathroom with full size shower is for private tenant use and is about 50 feet away through a lighted pathway under the fig tree.
    Guest access
    It is okay to roam the farm and enjoy the gardens, greenhouses, barns, animals and sitting areas.
    Other things to note
    The farm brewery is open on some weekend during the spring, summer and fall.

This little cottage in the middle of a farm was the perfect getaway from the city while we visited Davis for a friend's wedding. The room is comfortable, AC is a blessing, farm is beautiful, animals are adorable, and the local beers are fantastic. It's only a short 15 min drive into Davis for a quick coffee run or a meal. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if we're in the area again.

Great experience, cute comfortable yurt. Wonderful time just wish we had more time to enjoy the spot. Will be back again if needing a place to stay during our travels.Host was very responsive and assisted with adjustment of our reservation.

Such an interesting accommodation - a dodecahedron and surrounded by goats, the sounds of chickens and roosters, greenhouses and the beginnings of huge veggie gardens! It was the grand opening of the Season and had line dancing and atheist brewery beer - the whole experience was great fun - magical, we decided as we sat around the fire pit, so many stars out!

I was sorry to leave! Comfortable, well-designed and attractive lodging surrounded by trees and flowers. I brought my nephew and his kids out to see the farm’s chickens and goats. Proprietors were friendly and everything was well-maintained and clean.

We loved every single second we were here. This place was paradise for us and our doggos. We will definitely return. The property and hospitality were above and beyond. Yurt and restrooms were 10/10 clean. We loved watching the skydivers across the street as well.

Another Great Stay at the Farm!

We had another great stay at Hooby's Farm, enjoying the peace and quiet, the animals, Mike's hospitality, and the air-conditioned yurt/cabin. It truly is the best place to stay in proximity to UC Davis.

A great experience staying at Hooby's Farm! Clean and bright room, comfy bed, spacious bathroom just through a fig tree tunnel, fun animals, beer counter & live music. We had the best time!

Everything you need, refrigerator with freezer, microwave, desk area. Very peaceful and quiet in the mornings and later evenings. Kids running around yelling and throwing fruit during the day. Ran on the porch of cottage even though there were signs saying private for air b&b guests. (Bad parenting) It was fun to watch the small planes take off from the YOLO airport across the street. Pet friendly which was very nice. Wifi was almost nonexistent. All and all much better and quieter than staying at a hotel.

I loved the yurt, the farm, the farmer, the animals and got to meet Curtis and his friends. It is quite an exceptional place. I am coming back soon with my wife. It is very well located between Winters and Davis. There should be more places like this.

Nice get-away close to Davis to read and reflect

Very cozy, close to places you may want to go to but a nice retreat to just stay put. Loved watching goats and sheep. Heating works well.

Nice little place . The goats were entertaining. Its a quiet neighborhood . Overall i'd stay again . If your into sky diving its just across the street.

This was a fun, unique space to spend the night on our way home from a Cache Creek show. The room was cute with a great microwave and minifridge that was perfect for leftovers from dinner and breakfast in the morning. The farm was interesting to walk around in the morning, and we couldn't hear any roosters until we went outside after waking on our own. The bathroom wasn't far, and through a well-lit path with some lovely twinkle lights and a bench along the way. There were some friendly spiders in the bathroom that kept to themselves, and for the rustic nature of the rental, the bathroom was great. Spiders need a home too. While we didn't bring a pet, there was a dog bed and bowls available in the room if we had, which was a nice touch. The AC was powerful and easy to use, and we were comfortable all night. It was also just 15 min from the Davis farmer's market Saturday morning, which we also enjoyed quite a bit. I would certainly stay here again if I needed lodging in the area.
