This place was old and not very clean . It was a bit pricey for the lack of amenities and it was about a 15 trek to town . The towels were thin and old . The Estepona were not clean . The restaurant was limited in menu and going to town was a bit out of the way . I can homely not worth the $160 per night

My expectations were higher considering the price. The staff was kind and welcoming, the rooms towels and bed clothes were old and filthy. Acceding to the facility is complicated. The room is not comfortable and only had a noisy ceiling fan we were sweating tremendously and there were not able to provide additional fans

Overpriced. No wifi in the rooms only in the outdoor restaurant area. Cheap bedding, bad lighting and the locks on the door felt very flimsy. Nice and friendly staff. Overall nice concept but the execution was poor. Really annoyed about the wifi.

We had a great stay at Maraica, we love this hotel!! It was a really good blend of exceptional quality and quiet privacy from the world. It was a very peaceful place, with fantastic food, and very close to the beach! We will be coming back for sure! PS. They also have very honest staff who helped us find something we had left behind, and they worked diligently to get it back to us! Thank you!!

Nice but
I really wanted to like this place but… The staff was really nice. There was a bad sewage smell and no AC. Grounds were beautiful and peaceful with easy access to the beach.

Our stay at the Maraica was amazing! The rooms are simple, spacious, and beautiful. It can be a little loud due to the rooms all being open, but so nice to hear the ocean at night. The restaurant is some of the best food in town. Would recommend going to dinner at sunset to take advantage of the amazing upper deck/terrace view. The restaurant doesn’t open until 8am so don’t plan on early coffee. Great location: About a 10 min walk to town, or 3 min walk to the beach club. Finally, the staff is so friendly, kind, and helpful!

Mosquitos could get in even with the doors and windows closed. The light in the halls are too bright and make black out sleeping difficult to the people that are sensitive to light. There is no internet in the rooms to even see a movie or work from there. In this moment working while traveling is more and more common. When I pay 200 dollars for a room I expect that Internet is resolved. Working from the table in front of the kitchen because it’s the only place with very so so internet is un acceptable. The excuse that a tree does not allow antenas to reach satellites is also unacceptable. And at last the construcction noise of the Neighboors should be notified to guest before hand and should also be supported by earplugs in the rooms in case needed or wanted. All the rest of the services, the beds, restaurant is all good. In reality is very close to being a great place.

This is truly a 2 to 3 star hotel. Day 1 When we got there you can obviously see that things haven’t been maintained in a very long time. My experience on day one including some other guests was a big surprise. There was no warnings of a “special event” that would take if not all there staff. So at dinner, the wait for ordering was nearly impossible. Day 3 Blackout..They definitely have electrical issues at this hotel. The electricity was going on and off and made it unsafe to walk any place including your room. It lasted until early morning. Also, Restaurant closes at 5pm Tuesday , Wednesday, Thursday…I am going to ask for a partial refund

We loved our stay at Maraica and wish we had at least one more night! The staff was great, property is very quiet, comfortable rooms, and beautiful views. There are great breakfast options as well. Restaurant is only open 8-5pm (more like 4pm) but there are so many good options in town which is a dark 10 minute walk in the evening. Only complaint is our rooms didn't have hot water and be aware that the walk to the rooms is a bit steep and parts of the walkway are a bit dark.

Beautiful rooms and a great palapa to hang out at for a super yummy breakfast (try the banana bread). The staff are nice, and the setting is beautiful. Bring earplugs in case there’s construction nearby!

Cute boutique property. Beautiful room but glad we were on the upper row of rooms versus the lower row that overlook parking. The pool was lovely. There could however be more chairs and eating tables around the patio and on the grass, a little more in the sun. And some comfortable sofas could be good too. Close walk to the beach and San Pancho which made it great. The room was nice but the balconies lack privacy between the rooms. Also a full walk for the toilet area could be nice for privacy in the room. Good parking option on site

Hotel is very run down. It appears no maintenance has been done to keep the hotel up to a normal standard. Piles of garbage were stacked on the stair entrance to the beach. Garage which has been their for a while. Hotel is not on the beach.

Fue una pésima experiencia; tenía altas expectativas pero termine muy decepcionada. El primer día que llegamos fueron unas personas del hotel a decirnos que necesitaban tomar unas fotos del baño sin más detalles; Al momento de usar la regadera el cuarto empezó a inundarse. Bajamos a pedir que lo revisen y nos hicieran favor de trapearlo a lo que nos dicen; “Bueno pero ya van a salir a cenar no?” Como si eso hiciera menos molesto que no podíamos usar la regadera y que todo estuviera mojado. Jamás se nos ofreció alguna solución solo nos dijeron que al siguiente día lo iban a revisar alrededor del medio dia! Imaginen estar en un destino de playa y no poder bañarte! La actitud de las personas de recepción muy mala y sobre todo jamás tuvieron disposición de ayudarnos. Tuvimos que recortar nuestro viaje y salir del hotel al día siguiente ( antes de lo esperado) Creo qué hay mejores opciones por la zona con un mejor servicio ya que no es nada barato.

Refund! Hotel is under construction. Not safe!
Please contact me about a partial refund. Hotel was still under construction. Doors did not lock so personal safety was a real concern the whole time. Left hotel all day because construction works were everywhere. This website was misleading and this location should not be listed. Terrible experience. Boarderline fraudulent. Please send some refund or compensation. This stay basically ruined my vacation.

San Pancho Eco Retreat
The hotel didn't disappoint and was a perfect getaway - a contrast to the bustle of Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta. The decor and views were amazing and the friendly staff was happy to accommodate our evening drink by the pool. The town of San Pancho had great surfing (not this time for me) and restaurant/beach experience.

Buen hotel, magnífica locación.
Dentro del estilo hipster y eco-friendly de San Pancho, el hotel Maraica ha sabido proponer una oferta de buena calidad a un precio razonable. La habitación que nos asignaron fue amplia y cómoda, aunque algo ruidosa, ya que al ser la más cercana a recepción, todos los huéspedes pasaban junto a ella y se podían escuchar con claridad todas sus pláticas. El mismo problema de aislamiento acústico con la habitación contigua, a veces daba la impresión que los huéspedes estaban junto a nosotros. Otro pequeño problema fueron los zancudos y otros pequeños animalitos en la cama (una especie de micro hormigas que nos dieron algo de lata). Pero lo mejor de todo es la locación de este hotel, a escasos cien metros de uno de los mejores segmentos de la playa, donde está casi sola.

Amazing find
The first and most important thing to say about Hotel Maraica is about the staff. They are, in fact, beyond friendly and helpful - they will easily become your actual friends and you will feel as if your stay is a welcome visit with warm people happy to see you. The hotel rooms are pretty, clean and comfortable, and have a beautiful view of the sea. The restaurant has an epic rooftop seating area that one can lounge all day looking at the blue ocean horizon, and the spectacular sunsets. The food and drinks are fresh and tasty. The beach is stunning, and down a short path. San Pancho is the chillest small town with the best vibe, and just a short walk from the hotel. There is a nearby great yoga studio with wonderful massages (El Estar) to complete your relaxation. Overall, this is a superb spot to relax, enjoy, and clear your mind. Beware of the San Pancho Effect: many come, and then stay. It's easy to see why!

El hotel está muy bonito y las habitaciones cómodas. Si es realmente para desconectarte porque no hay wifi (más que en el restaurante y mala señal). La playa de afuera del hotel es hermosa y súper sola. El staff es muy amable y servicial.. sin embargo, el segundo día se fue el agua varias horas y nos encontramos un alacrán en la habitación. Los precios del restaurante carísimos. Además sólo aceptaban tarjeta por cargos mínimos de 500. La verdad esque si estuvo muy bonito pero por esas malas experiencias se me hizo CARÍSIMO vs lo que recibí.

Our overall review for this hotel would have been an eight or nine. the location is excellent and the majority of the staff is friendly and attentive. However, our review gives a low mark because we were robbed during our one night stay. The hotel does not have safe boxes in the rooms and we never thought someone would enter our room and steal money we intended to use for a special purchase - $2,500 was taken form one of our bags.! The manager was very attentive and concerned when we called after we realized the money was gone, but unfortunately they don't have a clue of who was responsible. The hotel employs some foreign transient people and begs the question of how well they screen and select their work staff. We have little hope of recuperating our money, but hope this is helpful for others considering staying at this property.

El lugar es realmente bonito, con buenas instalaciones y excelente lugar no tan lejos del pueblo y muy cerca de la playa. Sin embargo, varias cosas que francamente NO son aceptables y menos por el rango de precio: 1) No todo el personal estaba usando cubrebocas. La persona del aseo de habitaciones no uso, aun cuando le llame la atencion y tambien varias veces note que los de la cocina no usaban. 2) Nos toco una cucaracha en la cama 3) No hubo durante toda la estancia agua caliente para la ducha 4) Los precios de la comida son bastante caros y considerando que no es cerca del pueblo estas casi obligado a consumir ahi. 5) Sin avisarnos nos cambiaron de habitacion. 6) Hizo MUCHISIMO frio y la primer noche nos congelamos. En la nueva habitacio NO habia cobija y tuvimos que bajara media noche a pedir algo para no pasar frio de nuevo. 7) El WIFI no va nada bien.

Apreciable huésped, Lamentamos los inconvenientes durante su estancia, nuestro principal interés es brindar la mejor experiencia en un entorno ecológico y de completo descanso, por lo que sus comentarios nos impulsan a continuar trabajando para lograr que nuestros huéspedes regresen a casa complacidos. Erramos a no anticiparles que les brindarles una noche en habitación con mejor categoría de la que reservaron y sentimos mucho la molestia de cambiarlos de habitación a pesar de procurarles la habitación contigua. Sería grato que regrese y pueda confirmar que: nuestros costos no son elevados sino por el contrario se mantienen en relación a los negocios de esta zona turística, que nos esforzamos por mantener en las mejores condiciones las habitaciones y con el continúo tratamiento para evitar incomodidades y que la realidad de la zona es que en general el internet y cobertura son intermitentes. Es vital mencionar que nos rige el compromiso de mantener y convivir en un lugar seguro para huéspedes y colaboradores en general, por tal motivo no bajaremos la guardia y continuaremos con el protocolo establecido. Deseando que los ajustes monetarios que realizamos durante su estancia hayan aminorado un poco esta incomoda experiencia. Saludos Cordiales

San Pancho's little paradise
It was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing stays of our lives! Pet friendly, the staff was incredibly nice, especially the ones at the restaurant, and the food was delish. The beach is just across from the street and the hotel was super nice and clean too.

The hotel was located close to the beach. It excepted pets. The area was quiet and relaxing.

Nuestra estancia en Maraica
En general bien con algunos detalles. La comida del restaurante es sabrosa y el personal del hotel es amable. Los contras: un día no había agua caliente para bañarse. El WiFi no es muy bueno; la playa tiene bonita vista pero no es apta para bañarse. En las habitación las puertas corredizas para salir a la terraza se trababan.
