Poorly Maintained and Unsafe – Families Beware
We’ve stayed at Las Olas many times and always had great experiences—until this stay. This penthouse unit is in terrible condition: broken fixtures, burned-out lights, and an overall lack of maintenance. But the true concern was the serious breach of safety.One afternoon, our four children (ages 7–16) were resting alone in the unit while my husband and I went for a short surf. We assumed the penthouse would be private and secure. Shortly after we left, multiple workers entered without knocking or permission. In broken English, they said they were “working”—but even after seeing only children were present, they stayed. Our kids were scared, confused, and didn’t know how to respond. It was a shocking and completely inappropriate situation that no parent should have to worry about, particularly on vacation.Later that week, around 11 PM, another guest knocked on our door looking for a pack-and-play. The same owner also owns that unit and had failed to provide one, so they sent the guest to us instead. It was invasive, unprofessional, and reinforced the lack of boundaries and management.The ocean view is the only redeeming factor, but it doesn’t make up for the fear, stress, and total lack of security we experienced. We don’t typically write reviews, but we felt it was important to warn others. We do not recommend this unit—especially for families. Please take caution.— A deeply concerned parent
