Checkin was at Mar Monte, as notified ahead of time. Parking was only valet or tight street parking. Room was not ready at 4pm. Front desk was swamped with guests checking in, many of us had to wait for our rooms to be ready. I left and came back two hours later and room was not ready. I was not notified, i had to just come back and find out myself. I left and came back at about 8pm, room was not ready and the night shift supervisor offered me a refund for the night i had booked; they did not offer any other room and they did not offer accommodation or anything like that. There was an issue with the previous guest that caused a huge issue for the hotel and for the room, but there was no contingency plan for the next booked guest (me) even though this was only one out of many properties in the area belonging to this hotel group, instead they booked out all the rooms throughout the day, which i was there to witness them booking new walk in guests earlier in the day. Bc all the managers were gone for the day and only the night time supervisor and the one poor front desk guy were available to help me, the supervisor called expedia to help make sure the refund process was started, and i was given the managers' business cards to email them. Was about 9:30pm when I left the property and booked another hotel 15 minutes away on another app because everything in the area was booked or 3x price. I emailed the managers first thing next morning and received no replies. Disappointed.
